Curious if there are any Harry Potter fans on here? I've not seen any of those films except for trailers and clips, but I have several friends who follow that series really close. I'd like to see them one day though. RYAN J.

Anything but that! ;D Hope i didn't spoil it for anyone, i was just surprised by that is all. was something i never knew. RYAN J. Well, upon your confession and recantation your heinous sins are forgiven. Now I have to figure out what to do with this huge stake I have in my back yard! ;D

I attended the 15th year anniversary of the museum a few years ago. Went to the Hamner family's church that Sunday morning. If you go out by the picnic area you'll see the stone dedicated to Doris Hamner. To the right is one dedicated to a Gladys Marks, that's my grandma's name, but it ain't her that it's dedicated to. Just a coincidence in the name. I've been there 3 times, check out the link to my Facebook photo album of those trips, the links are at the bottom of my posts.
I'd like to go for one of these reunions but it all depends on a couple of things: 1) I was in a few serious car accidents. Some brain injuries happened, part of which I don't see things in proper perspective. Cars coming toward me look as though they're right in front of me. I had to give up driving because of that. So it depends if I a friend would be going and I could hitch a ride with him/her. 2) I'm battling cancer again, so it depends on how I feel at the time.
One of the things I really enjoy about your photos and comments is the interaction you have with your dad.

Did the acorns grow? I'm curious about that because when I was there on Oct 21, 2007 I knicked some slate and acorns from the Schuyler Baptist Church, A little soapstone from the quarry. And some chips from the Hamner's house. I see 2 acorns in the jar, I'm wondering if I should try and plant one if your's grew.
When I was at Mt. Airy in N. Carolina (Mayberry) I broke off a piece of a plant and picked up a (I can't remember the name of the kind of) nut and put in a jar. Before I left the DC area I went to the Congressional Cemetery in Washington, DC and picked up 2 tiny stones from the grave of Taza, son of Cochise. I generally pick up something whenever I go somewhere, even if it's just a pamphlet. hey, I even got a coonskin cap from Davey Crockett's birthplace in Tennessee. I even wear every now and then.
I hope to make it this reunion. I have a friend down here that wants to attend for the first time, if he and his family goes, and if I'm healthy enough he said I can tag along.
