I have a suggestion to give to The Hallmark Channel. I noticed that they don't show every episode of every season of The Waltons. I have noticed however that when they started back with season number one that they seem to be showing the same episodes over again. I am afraid that people are going to get bored with the same episodes over and over again causing the ratings to go down and cause The Hallmark Channel to be forced to take it off the air. I hope this does'nt happen. So why don't they show different episodes of each season when they started over with season number one so they would'nt be rerunning the same episodes so much. I would like to see some of the other episodes myself. What does everyone think?

It's never bored me but Season 3 will starts on Wednesday. The only thing that I told Hallmark Channel is to put all 6 post series and they haven't done anything for the past couple years. So that why I had my friend uploaded on You Tube. Hallmark Channel only skipped 5 episode(s) which is the following: An Easter Story (Season 1), The Competition (Season 4), The Grandchild & The Ordeal (Season 6) and Decade of the Waltons (Season 8). How can the ratings goes down if everyone is still watching "The Waltons" every morning? This is so popular right now. If anything happened to Hallmark Channel I'm sure TV Land will take "The Waltons" back.

Reply to bmcgill:
Cable channels such as Hallmark purchase broadcast licenses for particular episodes of a TV show. I would love it if channels aired all the episodes of my favorite shows but it would be too expensive for them to do that. I guess the only thing that would change that is if a particular show gets very high ratings (CSI for example) and the channel carrying the show knew they would draw a large viewership. They could then make up for the cost of the episodes with increased advertising revenues. It all comes down to viewer demand and dollars. I know everyone is not in a position to do this but my wife and I have decided that we will purchase the DVD complete season sets of shows we really love. That way, our opportunity to view these shows will not be impaired by the shifting sands of viewer demand or the whim of broadcast executives. I hate to say this and I hope I'm wrong but I believe that as viewer tastes become more coarse and vulgar as the years progress, shows such as The Waltons may not be broadcast any longer. And the companies that hold the broadcast rights to these shows may conclude that since there is no viewer demand for these shows, there would be no demand for DVDs of these shows and stop producing the DVDs. That's why I'm buying them now while they are available. Like I said, I hope I'm wrong about this.

Tracey, I never get bored with it either no matter what episodes they show and I hope you are right about TV Land taking it back if something happens.

I look forward to watching the Waltons every day. I usually record them in the morning when their on Hallmark and watch them while I am eating lunch or in the evening. Even if it's not one of my favorite episodes I still enjoy watching the show...

To dwhill7478, I was thinking just like you are. I hope we are wrong too and plan to buy all of the DVDs that I can. Hope to be able to go to the reunion this October also if we can afford the gas and depending on what cast members are going to be there.

I am still not sure of alll of the implcations of the convesion to Digital that will take place two days before I go on Medicare---coincidince or not----but my cable provider dropped TVLAND in the late spring of 2005 and has not restored it. If you get digital will you have all channels available???

I received my August edition of Cable Connection magazine which says that the Waltons will be on Hallmark through the end of August at least. The schedule does not go any further than that.

To dfnmcows44---digital is a compressed "way" signals are recorded and sent- the space that it would take to receive/send one signal on anolog can now hold 5-10 signals on digital. Come February all channels will have to record and broadcast in digital --these signals can not be picked up on an antena--they need to run thru cable/fiber. Your cable company should now have more space to hold more channels, come February, Maybe you can write to them and ask for other channels to be added-remember companies (cable & satellite) have to pay the channels to air on their service, the costs of the channels is always a factor.

I wish The Waltons could be on in the morning and afternoon -- just like Little House on the Prairie is!
