There are a few episodes I'm not bothered if I never watch again. Of course, there's Curt's return, and Linda Purl's unfortunate accent as Curt's sister, but otherwise I'm pretty good with the rest.
How about you? Which are the episodes which encourage you to find something else to do to pass the hour?

I find The Conflict very sad and hard to watch. It's a shame because Beulah Bondi is magnificent, but seeing those people thrown off their property by the government -- and knowing it really happened -- is so troubling to watch. I wouldn't have wanted to leave that mountain either.

There's a few, the one where Elizabeth is injured and Amy and her go see this old lady.
The episode where Jason gets IGNORED by his mom bc John Boy gets published. I mean come on Olivia. We all know John Boy and Elizabeth are your favorite ones but geez.
I also won't watch the ones where the girl gets raped or the creepy painter.

I never watch the stupid stuff with Elizabeth and the poltergeist, or Elizabeth and the Ferris wheel. Both of those are just too dumb.
I skip the Curt resurrection episode too.

The Tempest. Curt coming back was just too soap opera-ish.
The Loss, I can't watch Calico die.
The Dust Bowl Cousins, Can't stand Ham and Job.
The Spoilers. That whole family is annoying.

I was just thinking that this might be a good poll question: What is your least favorite episode? I’ll give it a few more days, then try to compile a list from the episodes mentioned in this thread.

^ That hadn't been my intention, but go for it. I just assumed that there was already a 'least favourite episode' poll. (I think I've only been in that forum once or twice and never voted nor posted in it.

Well, I have to admit after The Empty Nest I'm very choosy about which episodes I like especially because John Boy, John, Olivia, Grandpa and Grandma are mostly gone. To me the show just wasn't the same anymore so I'll pick from before The Empty Nest and disregard whatever came after. Here's episodes I'd just as soon miss: The Boy From the CCC The Dust Bowl Cousins The Braggart The Ferris Wheel The Heartbreaker Episodes I try never to miss: The Literary Man The Chicken Thief The Fox The Burn Out The Prophesy

The Dust Bowl Cousins, The Braggart and the one with Linda Purl and Curts sister (was that The Heartbreaker?). I don't like any of them. Or The Changeling.

Elizabeth and the poltergeis
I think I read somewhere the network pushed that episode
I could be wrong but it did not fit at all!

Even if I don't particularly like an episode, it just irks me to skip over an episode. It feels strangely wrong. While this does mean I've sat through my least favourite episodes as often as my favourite episodes (as I always watch in sequence), I also find that I'll sometimes think "Oh, this episode isn't that good" and then when I watch it, I enjoy it much more than I anticipated. On the flipside, sometimes episodes I remember are being amazing are just okay on a re-watch.

There isn't any episode I would not watch. I love them all. Sure there are storylines I don't like and one time characters I hate but there are always portions of that episode that are enjoyable. Having said that, my least favorite episode is the one with the creepy painter. I don't mind the story all that much but the actor who played the painter is like nails on a chalkboard to me. But I still watch because, hey, it's The Waltons

Was it around the same time the movie The Poltergiest came out?

^ The Changeling was broadcast 4 years before Poltergeist hit the theatres.
