Most people who vape think it's safer than smoking. It isn't.
Smoking has dangerous natural chemicals. Vaping has dangerous man-made chemicals.

I agree, they used to have commercials for vaping and now they don't because it is not safe at all.

I'm not sure if cigarettes being advertised on TV ended before I was born. But I'm 56 and I don't recall ever seeing a cigarette ad on TV. I googled it and it said the President Nixon signed legislation on April 1, 1970 banning cigarette ads on TV and Radio. So if I am doing the math correctly that is almost 53 years ago. So even when the Waltons TV series started there were no cigarette commercials even though they showed it from time to time on the actual show. I do remember the Marlboro man and I just turned 60 so... I am corrupted. Also I smoked for years and stopped by vaping Luckily I didn't have any issues. I now work for Phillip Morris International on a new Product they are bringing to the US that is heated tobacco, not burned like conventional cigarettes. According to r4esearch in Europe where it started It's about 95% safer. But I don't know. I tried one and It was tasted like tobacco smells. It actually looks like a short version of a cigarette, with a tobacco plug and filters uses glycerin to produce a smoke like vapor. It is called a HEET stick and is heated with a device called IQOS. should be available late 2023 or early 2024. Ill put a link at the bottom if anyone is interested. I hope its what they say and helps people quit conventional cigarettes. It is a bad habit and very harmful. www.pmi.com/smoke-free-products info on the above products.

I guess 95% safer is better than nothing, but they also said vaping was safer when it first came out and now it is not. I think really the safest way is to quit altogether, but I guess that is really really hard.

For me, I tried to quit for years. The problem was that I didn't really want to quit. Things changed and I finally quit in 2006 when I decided that I didn't want to smoke anymore. I haven't smoked a cigarette since then.
Mind-set is everything.

Emmy It was I tried Cold turkey several times and always went back. The draw of demon nicotine is very strong! But thankfully I dont vape or smoke now. But exposure to Tobacco leaves at work may make me revert to something.

Congratulations!!!!!!! I think that is what it is a lot about. With my illness which is pretty much my brain telling me things that are really not the case about my body image which in turn led me to doing harmful things to my body and myself. Once I really set my mind to it that I was going to be in control of that and not what these thoughts were telling me things started getting better. Yep, I have to use techniques that my therapist gave me to use to help with all of that each day because those thoughts still enter my head, but I am now in control. Once I set my mind to that like you did with your smoking things got better and you overcame it. I am going to do the same.
