I noticed something in this photo. Elizabeth is the only one of the kids who has shoes on.

^ Ben and Erin also run from the see-saw, around the back of the truck, to the passenger door.
FYI, Kami explained her odd, jaunty trot in one of Judy's video. She was running too fast and getting to the others in too short a time. The director told her to run slower and that was the only way she could do it.

It is hard to tell what sort of shoes she is wearing.

They look like sneakers to me. They were being mass-produced by 1917.

The close up view looks to me as they are a high ankle shoe with a very small height heel and wide width heel. I highly doubt they are Kami's actual shoes for that time period. I would think they would be more from the costuming department from the show. That would be a really good clarification from Kami herself to know.

I have a question for those who were there for episode 1 in 1972. Like today, each show is placed in a time slot against other shows on other networks. Does anyone who watched the Waltons regularly back then remember what shows they were up against on a weekly basis and how the show ranked compared to those shows?

I Googled the TV schedule for the 1972-73 TV season and it looks like on the Waltons ran against on NBC "The Mod Squad (had to Google that show) and on ABC " The Flip Wilson Show" ( another I had to research)
