is this podcast still going? been a while Hey Jason! As far as I know, yes! It is still going. The host has just taken a break but hopefully more episodes will show up soon! If you’re interested in being on an episode of the podcast join the “Waltons” podcast Facebook group and then contact the host, Mark.

I had listened to the first couple episodes before I found this forum, as I was just looking for Waltons podcasts. I’ll give episodes 3 and 4 a listen. I’ll admit, Mark hasn’t been impressive as a host thus far, but maybe he’s spent some time learning about the show during this break.

I’ll admit, Mark hasn’t been impressive as a host thus far, but maybe he’s spent some time learning about the show during this break. I have also listened to the podcasts once I learned about it and to be honest I have learned a ton more from this forum and the members on here about the Waltons then from that podcast. I have only been watching the Waltons since last summer so I am not going to say I am an expert on the Waltons and I certainly could not do a better job than what the host of the podcast is doing, but I think if someone has decided to do something like have a podcast about a show they should really know the material from the show. I did not get that impression from the first few episodes so far. I am going to continue to listen and see if it improves. Like I said, the knowledge from the members on this forum about the Waltons just blows my mind sometimes.

The Love Story Podcast episode: I just listened to this podcast and the first thing I will say is I am going to continue to give the show another chance. I am taking it one episode at a time. I am not going to say I was extremely impressed with the entire show, but there were some things I do have to say were fine about it. The discussions about certain scenes and certain characters were pretty good and I also did like how this guest included references she obviously researched about. It seemed like she was more prepared than even the actual host.
Here are the things that I just felt were just not up to par. Grant it, I am not a mass communications major or anything even close to that. I am only some 13 year old kid listening to a podcast. There was close to 15 minutes of ridiculous chatter at the beginning of the episode even before getting into what the episode was even about. I was close to turning it off before it even started. Then several times throughout the show the host put down the series with certain remarks. There are times as well to add goofy remarks during the podcast, but this happened constantly throughout the entire podcast on almost every single line of dialog that was been said in the episode being reviewed.
The entire podcast was 1 hour and 24 minutes long. It easily could have been shortened to 45 minutes long with taking out the off topic and goofy comments that were made throughout the entire episode. That being said, I will continue to listen on an episode to episode basis, but if the next episode is pretty much the same I might jump ship. Honestly, I thought the highlight of the episode was the guest host and she admitted she didn't know a lot about the Waltons, but at least she seemed to do some research.

Yeah I listened to this episode last night and I think it was very unwise for Mark to say that 25% of the episodes in a season of "The Waltons" are boring. He might feel that way personally, but it was very foolish to say that during the recording as it's likely going to cause him to not gain more listeners and lead them to question why he's even doing the podcast if he really feels this way. I also wonder if this will hurt his chances of getting cast members on his podcast. Perhaps part of the problem is Mark is a big-time "Little House" fan, hence why he started "Walnut Grovecast" first back a couple years ago, so maybe he's become so used to "Little House's" melodramatic and zany plots that he just find's "The Walton's" realism dull. Of course, I'm only speculating.

Matt, I am not sure if Mark wants to dedicate his time to the Little House On The Prairie and put out a lackluster quality podcast for The Waltons this is the smartest thing to do. All he is really doing is losing the quality Waltons fan base.
Unless he really wants to dedicate his time and effort fully to the Waltons show as much as he does Little House On The Prairie, I think he should give it up because the quality he is putting out is not very good.
