Since we found out that John-Boy died in 1992 in The Waltons' Homecoming, I wanted to make a video that kind of celebrates the life of the character in all his forms. I made this video, and I hope you like it.  |

Did I miss something? I never heard of John-boy dying in 1992.  I've been looking around on the net and can't find any references to this. Doing a calculation: if John-boy was 17 in the beginning (1933) of the series. then in 1992, he would be 76. That sounds a bit young for him to pass, considering the longevity of Earl Hamner Jr . |

Did I miss something? I never heard of John-boy dying in 1992. I've been looking around on the net and can't find any references to this. Doing a calculation: if John-boy was 17 in the beginning (1933) of the series. then in 1992, he would be 76. That sounds a bit young for him to pass, considering the longevity of Earl Hamner Jr . It was implied at the end of the new Homecoming with Elderly Elizabeth taking her grandson to John Boy's grave. |

^ Indeed. It's the first segment in the video above. The tomb stone in that segment looks fishy. His name is John Walton Jr.. The B for a middle initial is incorrect unless he has a middle name we are not aware of beginning with B. (we assume it is not Boy).. |

There should have been a spoiler alert on the initial post, for those of us who have never seen the 2021 Waltons film. Now the film won't have the same impact when I watch it. Please post spoiler alerts at the beginning of a post so we may chose whether or not to read a post. By the way, it is not too late to put spoiler alert there now.

There should have been a spoiler alert on the initial post, for those of us who have never seen the 2021 Waltons film. Now the film won't have the same impact when I watch it. The writer just got confused. If you paid attention to the Johnny Weissmuller films, you will remember that Boy is the son of Tarzan.

Thanks, all I am glad you enjoyed it! It takes a long time to make videos like that, and it's worth it knowing that fellow fans enjoy them. Johnny, I am sorry I accidentally spoiled that for you. I (wrongly) assumed everyone on the forum would have either watched it within the first week or two of it coming out (since it was available to view for free online), or if they hadn't, would have had no intention of watching it. That was presumptuous of me though and I am sorry for not considering that. As for the 'B' in J. B. Walton, John-Boy calls himself "J. B. Walton" in The Deed, though it wasn't mentioned again until The Waltons' Homecoming, where it suggested that that was the name he went by as an author. He might be using the 'B' as a fun connection to his roots, or he might genuinely have a middle name that begins with B. Maybe it's Boone and he's named after his cousin (or whatever relation Boone is) or maybe he's just got an unrelated middle name starting with B that we've never seen before. So far, I think you can interpret it either way - though who knows, maybe the next movie will definitively give us his middle name? |

I mentioned in an earlier thread regarding this film, I didn't have access to CW-TV where it aired and looked forward to watching when it becomes available from the public library.. You could learn from AR15 who graciously apologized for not considering those of us who haven't had the opportunity to view this film yet.  |
