I like him much more than the other guy (Paul) she eventually marries. Anybody know why they did not keep them as a couple? Maybe Judy will do a video on what happened to him and other characters. Yes, I know he comes back for the movies, but they should have stayed together.

He was a creep. He married another woman during the war and left her heart broken.
I didn't care much for Paul either.

^^^ Hey, if I find someone more suited to me and I am not married, guess what, I am going to do the same thing ME did to David Spencer when she married Kurt.
They could have written it though that Ashely comes home from the war and marries Erin, but they don't. I am wondering why they did not.

I liked G.W. Haines better than Ashley or Paul. I wish he hadn’t been killed off. 😥. I also thought Hank Buchanan was a good match for Erin, and I believe he was originally brought into the cast to be Erin’s husband, but for some reason the plan didn’t work out.

I wonder why they changed their mind? He stayed on the show for a while. Teachers and preachers were hard pressed to stay on the mountain.

I think they were doing a slow build toward Hank and Erin getting involved, and then Peter Fox left to take a bigger role on “Delta House,” the TV version of “Animal House” (Fox played Tim Matheson’s role of Otter). Hank and Erin would have been a good couple. I also like Chad and Erin. Paul was a charmless, angry dud.

Perhaps because Jonathan Frakes was no longer available? The actor who replaced him in "A Wedding on Waltons Mountain" was abysmal.

How about Chad? I think Chad might have made a good husband for Erin.

^^^^ Jackie.. was that Roseanne's sister? Yes! He wasn't as appealing in that show as he was on The Waltons.

Replacing Jonathan Frakes really wasn't any different than replacing the many other characters in The Waltons.
