The Walton household is already a big family with three and later on four generations living under one roof. Did you think each Walton or even the non-Walton characters got an equal amount of attention throughout the show? Ones that got way too many episodes about them? Or was there some that deserved better? Just curious on your opinions. I personally thought each Walton got their chance to shine in each season the best they could

The main characters, John-Boy, John & Olivia, and Grandma & Grandpa were the main characters, to they, of course, got the main share of screen time. The rest of the kids, I think, were divided quite evenly in sub-plots and story lines. Of course, as main characters left the show, the main story lines switched in turn to the kids.
One thing I just thought of as far as the boys were concerned during the war. John-Boy, Jason, and Ben were shown in action. Poor Jim-Bob was always just going home on furlough.

Yeah, I noticed that we never get to see Jim-Bob as much after he joined the army and all. I don't even think I saw him in the first two episodes of the final season. 🤔

Jim Bob joined up right after D-Day. It's not really realistic that he wasn't deployed before the war ended, right? Or am I wrong?

Many are here in the U.S. I remember my father telling me about flying home on a very uncomfortable military plane when he was making his way home from Panama after the Korean War, and his sister met him at the airport. I asked him about his brother flying home. He said, "He didn't fly home. He was deployed in Brooklyn. He took the subway home." 😄

He didn't have to be deployed overseas to be shown that he was doing something more than going home. We were never told or shown what he actually did during his service in the Air Corps even if it showed him learning how to dismantle an engine and reassemble it.
