Just watched a moving documentary on the life of John Ritter. He was loved and admired by so many fellow actors. The program didn't go into his time on the Waltons, but more about his time on Three's Company and 8 Rules for Dating my Teenage Daughter.
Some things I learned - I had thought he passed away while filming his latest series - 8 Rules for Dating my Teenage Daughter. But it seems he was taken to the hospital and passed away several hours later. The doctors mis-diagnosed his problem as a heart blockage and didn't realize it was an aneurysm. Their method of treating him would have been much different had they realized it was an aneurysm. They believe the aneurysm was hereditary.
They believe his father Tex Ritter may have died with the same condition.
John was good friends with Henry Winkler (Fonzie). Henry was with on stage with him shortly before he was rushed to hospital.
He made amends with Suzanne Somers shortly before his death. She was fired from Three's Company after making a big fuss over her salary.
If you have a chance to check it out - the documentary is called - John Ritter: Behind Closed Doors. I would recommend it.

Ritter died of an aortic dissection. Where a layer of the aorta splits and blood is pumped by the heart into the gap.

I liked John Ritter. He was a gifted actor, as a preacher, Jack or a dad on 8 simple rules.

^ Indeed. I don't know how I missed it when it was posted. A lot of fun moments, especially Kami's father's home movies.
There was an image at the end that I particularly liked. Nice to see the kids all grown up. (I don't remember seeing Eric wearing glasses before.)
