Cindy asks Ben if he meant going to college and he said "no, engineering school".
If ME went to a nursing school, Jason went to a music school, and Ben wanted to go to an engineering school, what classes were at a college back then besides JB and his journalism?
Now days you would find all of that on one campus.

Ben could have gone to VPI (Virginia Polytechnic Institute) which was part of the Land Grant College system. A system established by the Morrill Land-Grant Acts of 1862, to have an agricultural and *mechanical arts college in every state. I attended two different Land-Grant colleges in my education and both gave classes in the liberal arts as well.
*mechanical arts is a synonym for engineering.

I know that modernly some colleges refer to sections of the college as separate schools. Here is an example. www.pacific.edu/academics/schools-and-collegesA lot of the colleges are on the same piece of property, but they are referred to as the school of business, teaching, dentistry etc... Is that what was meant or would Ben go to a piece of property that only had the engineering like ME's school of nursing and Jason's Music? Oh, to make me more confused, in the Pledge, ME stated she only had nursing school when she was at Boatwright trying to take pre-med classes. Today, you could go to a community college and take chemistry, biology, anatomy etc... and use them for nursing as well as medical school.
