^ It's possible, but I don't think the location was ever revealed (I may be wrong in that). But remember that there were American forces on the island. The Japanese guard who 'rescued' them from the camp led them through the forests, feeding and protecting them, until they came across the American unit. The guard then got the attention of the Americans and then handed Ben his rifle and surrendered to him.
If Ben ever mentioned where he was in the Pacific in his letters to Cindy, I expect it was a black blob by the time Cindy got it.

Wasn't there a Japanese flag in the camp and Ben made an USA flag that got him in hot water?

I always wondered about them going to see "Gone With the Wind" which came out in the 1930s and according to my mom (born in 1926) was a really big deal when she went to see it. John Boy mentioned the book in the episode "The Prophecy" regarding it having been a massive best seller. And Olivia mentions Scarlett in a episode when she is talking with John. That is where I got my name for the board. Mary Ellen mentioned “Gone With the Wind” a couple of times. One time David Spencer told her she was a lot like Scarlett O’Hara, and Mary Ellen became a bit defensive.

They conquered a lot of territory in the Pacific and occupied it. Ben was serving on an island which was occupied by the Japanese. The prison camp was Japanese on a non-Japanese island in the Pacific campaign.

I read something interesting about the newsreels attached to movies. I read that some theaters had smaller viewing rooms that would play nothing but newsreels and never a feature film. Kind of wish we had something similar today instead of television and internet news.

Kind of wish we had something similar today instead of television and internet news. I could see John Boy spending an entire day in such a room.

This was mentioned in another thread. They could have had a Halloween episode involving the family listening to the War Of The Worlds radio broadcast.

I honestly cannot remember the episode, but if I am correct, it would have been ME talking to grandma about women's accomplishments and how grandma was not up on women's brave new world.
