I feel kind of cheated that we did not get to see them all. I wonder why they did not show that since education was so important to John and Livy?

We saw John boy, Erin and Jim Bob. You would have thought that they would have shown it.

John-Boy was a given. He was off to Boatwright within a few months. Being the eldest and the first to enter post-secondary education, it would have insulted the character not to have him graduate.
Erin's graduation, too, was vital to the storyline. She was the only member of the graduation class who had no idea what she wanted to do after leaving school.
Jim-Bob's duty as valedictorian took backstage to his announcement that he and the other male graduates had enlisted in the army. Of course, that lead to the final scene of all 4 Walton boys walking off together to do their part in the war.
We got to see Mary Ellen's graduation as a nurse.
We know that Jason, Ben, and Elizabeth graduated, but I think that, if angst-ridden stories about their graduation would have become very tired very quickly. I can only assume they were ordinary, run-of-the-mill graduation days.

The only one we didn't see graduate high school was Elizabeth. She was only a sophomore in high school when the series ended. The show would have had to go on for 2 more season for us to see her graduate.

If we had actually witnessed a graduation ceremony for each of the children, it would have finally answered the question about who was older, Ben or Erin. I do seem to remember in The Career Girl, Ben said “I’m next,” so we can assume that Ben graduated after Erin did. I think Judy addressed this in a recent video. She said Ben was originally older than Erin, but when Erin had a growth spurt and Ben didn’t, her height made her look older than Ben, so she became the older one.

We know Erin graduates in the Career Girl. I think in the episode the Go-Getter, Ben tells the car lot owner that he was planning on working for him fulltime now that he had graduated from high school. Although that did not make sense as JB was still publishing the newspaper and had no idea he was going to move to NY, so why would Ben be working for the cars yard owner and not JB? Both of these episodes are in season five. How long was season five supposed to span? Was there enough time for Erin to graduate one year and then Ben the next?

I always wondered why Ben, the third son was the one named after John's brother Ben who was killed in World War One. The it occurred to me, John Boy was born early during American involvement in World War One given that Olivia was pregnant when John left to serve (she didn't tell him) and one might presume that Olivia became pregnant a couple of years later when John was either home on leave or home for good. We know that Johns brother was killed during the war because Olivia remember John's parents getting the telegram.
But Ben would've been the first Walton son born after the shock of the death had started to wear off.
