I just "discovered" French Press Coffee. I think it is the best style of coffee I have tasted. The press is cheap, simple and will last a lifetime.
What was the process for making coffee in the pot on the Waltons? It was always on the the stove.

My grandma used a glass coffee pot on the stove. It had a filter you put coffee in.

I've seen Olivia scooping loose grounds into the pot but she doesn't strain it when pouring, so I can only guess that it's a percolator. She would be scooping the grounds into an unseen filter basket.
