I have not been able to find this on the internet so I thought I would ask it here. Was the building used for Ike Godsey's Store exteriors ever redressed and used as a filming location for other shows or movies? Thanks!

dderrick2007 - As far as I know it was only used on the Waltons, but the Walton's house was used in two other shows. It was the home of Sam Jones (Ken Berry) & his son, Mike (Buddy Foster), on Mayberry RFD. Then it was used as the Dragonfly Inn on The Gilmore Girls.

I suppose the interior of the store was filmed on stage 26, just like the interior of the Walton's home.
It would seem a little confusing to me that anytime a character went out one of the doors, they would then have to wait to film the sequence when they were on the exterior set. They made it look seamless though.

I have not been able to find any info about Ike Godsey’s store used in other films or tv shows. The exterior was located on Warner Bros backlot along with the Walton house and Drucilla’s Pond. The interior of the store was filmed on a sound stage. The Walton house has been seen in several films and tv shows. I found these images on the All About The Waltons website, a great source of information about The Waltons. This is how it appeared on Mayberry RFD. This is the house on Falcon Crest (another Earl Hamner show). 1991 Stephen King movie Sleepwalkers. Dukes of Hazzard: The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. Gilmore Girls (before remodel) Gilmore Girls after remodel (Dragonfly Inn)

I meant to post this the other day, and this reminded me. Godsey’s Store showed up on an episode of Hart to Hart that GetTV showed a week or two ago.
I guess Aimee let the place fall into disrepair after she inherited it.

Thanks! I knew it had to have been used in other things but I just couldn't find anything else!

The interior layout was built on a studio sound stage and could be built in any lay-out the producers desired.

The store exterior shows up in Season 4, episode 8 ("Death Game") of Police Woman. Pepper (Angie Dickinson) walks out of the store with groceries about 38 minutes into the episode and for the first time that I remember you can see another building to the left of the store as you face it.
You can watch the episode for free on Tubi and they didn't try to disguise it as "Ike Godsey, Prop" can be seen above the front door. Later she walks in the woods and I think she is at the same water that served as Druscilla's Pond.

They made it look seamless though. Not really. Most television and movie scenes are NOT filmed in sequence. For the purposes of efficiency they are filmed so that they can take advantage of having everything like the lighting done at once for a single set. For example if they had five scenes of a person exiting the store at different points in the episode they would film them all together so they only had to light the set and prepare the props one time. Much more cost efficient that way.

In addition to describing an episode or answering viewers’ questions, she often explains different aspects of filming a scene, such as where it was filmed and when it was filmed.
