This episode where Maryellen went to visit Curt after finding he was alive was the most ridiculous i've ever seen. Bad enough it was a totally different actor but made no sense what so ever. Wish they did without it!!!!!!

I agree - that episode left me confused! Recently, I came across a short video "Behind the Scenes, Ask Judy #5." Here, Waltons fans raise exactly your point. Why did Curt return in a different form? Judy "guesses" that the writers wanted to introduce Curt 2 as an "interesting obstacle" to Mary Ellen and Jonesy's relationship. For me, her explanation makes the episode seem a little less ridiculous.

Wish they did without it!!!!!! I've said this before, having Curt turn up alive in my opinion cheapens everything Mary Ellen's character went through between the time of Day of Infamy and when she got engaged to Jonesy.

It’s the nadir of The Waltons. It’s like the writers of Dallas came in and wrote those two episodes.

^ Indeed. At least Curt didn't reappear taking a shower.
