There's the house fire, of course.
But then there's also the barn fire that Yancy starts when he's drunk (The Sinner, iirc).
There's the fire that John's war buddy starts in The Legend.
And then I recall the fire that the Native American man and his grandson start in the barn, claiming it was an Indian burial site.
Am I missing any others?

Jeffrey accidentally set a fire in the barn as well when he threw a cigarette butt into a tin of some flammable liquid. It was the episode shortly after joining the series when it was discovered that he had been beaten by his father.

John Boy set The Hindenburg on fire, didn't he?  I was going to start a thread on this last night after watching “The Legend,” because I thought the same thing. There sure were a lot of fires on Walton’s Mountain, weren’t there? Don’t forget the episode “The Firestorm”, where the Rev. Fordwick set books on fire. I was quite certain that it wasn't the she so I flipped a coin between the mill and the barn.
