If you had to get out of bed and go to your office to pause the playback from the computer keyboard, it may not be so great a plan. and I would lose my ability to fast forward through some parts with just my remote, while snuggled down in the blankets. I am talking about you Hobart Shanks.

I put mine in the DVD albums and stored the cases in a box in the attic in case I ever decided to donate them to the library.

Well, its been exactly one year since I started this thread. Today I took my DVDs out of their packaging and put them into binder type things. I do not regret getting rid of the boxes and such. They were getting old and worn looking anyways. I actually feel freer now that the DVD storage boxes are gone. My whole collection fits in two of these binders. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DIHVMEA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Goodness gracious!! After reading all the amazing ideas about DVD storage and hard drives and disc files and every other option available, I just feel incredibly blessed that I know how to use my IPhone, turn on my MacBook and IPad and have my brilliant, very tech savvy son on speed dial!
SERIOUSLY- DANG! All you people impress the heck out of me!

Eeek! I just checked, and I find that The Waltons DVD set was a Warner Bros. release!
I've had more WB discs in my collection eventually go bad and stop reading than those of any other manufacturer. It doesn't help that they're double-sided and you can hardly handle them without touching either surface. Three episodes to a side isn't too bad for the bit rate, no worse than for a 150-minute feature.
Be careful with your discs!
