We all know the regular characters on The Waltons and even the recurring characters like Yancy, Ep, Verdie, Rosemary, and so on. Reappearances does not necessarily mean the character is recurring. For instance, while Drew and GW, Flossie Brimmer, and Fanny Tatum were recurring characters, Jenny, Curtis and Ann, and even Sarah Jane, and others were not.
Although he appeared in 4 episodes (1 in Season 8 and 3 in Season 9), I don't consider Stanley Perkins a recurring character unless you consider only the final 2 Seasons. I've enjoyed William Schallert's performances since his days on Dobie Gillis and Patty Duke.
I can't think of anyone better to portray Stanley nor anyone better suited to be Rose's 'beau' and dance partner. I only wish there had been more to their relationship.
So, who do you wish had become more of a presence in The Waltons?

The kids Ep and his wife adopted. It would have been nice to see them become a family.

I really wanted to see Jenny from "Love Story" stay on cause she was so loveable but then I saw her soon after on "Columbo" as a nasty blackmailer and changed my mind.

I’ve always liked Zach Roswell. I know he appeared in several episodes, but no episode was ever centered around him. He was just a neighbor who seemed to show up now and then. I liked his personality. His one-liners added a lot to the show.

Mike Paxton played by Dennis Redfield. Originally appeared as a upper classman at Boatwright that attempted to bully John Boy. Later a member of the student council that considered disciplinary action against John Boys friend for attempting to cheat on a test. Later still briefly shared a room with John Boy to save money. Much later was paralyzed from the waist down and was helped in his rehabilitation by the entire Walton clan.

Curtis and Anne and their adopted son Stevie. Stevie would have been a good playmate for Jim Bob and Elizabeth. Anne could have become pregnant after they adopted Stevie. That happened to my great aunt and uncle around the same time period as The Waltons. They couldn't get pregnant so they adopted a son. Six months or so later my great aunt discovered she was pregnant with the first of their 3 daughters.
Victor French became a regular on Little House around the same time The Fulfillment aired so I guess wouldn't have been possible.
