Do you think the Walton's would have enjoyed fast food, or do you think it would be "junk food " to them?

They would've enjoyed it.
There's a reason why these fast food restaurants are popular around the world, across all cultures. Namely, that humans are genetically programmed to like the taste of such foods.

I can imagine any of the children enjoying fast food, but John & Olivia may have some only to enjoy eating with their children, same with Grandpa.

I can actually see both a young Elizabeth and Jim Bob being thrilled with getting a Happy Meal at McDonalds and I can also see John Boy getting a quick bite to eat between classes at Boatwright.

Considering the Waltons, despite their supposed poverty seemed to drive almost everywhere I think they would've liked the convenience of fast food even if they didn't care for the taste of the food that much. Which is pretty much my opinion as well.

In the first few seasons they probably wouldn’t have eaten fast food, but as the kids got older and were busier with jobs and school and dating, etc, I can see them taking advantage of the convenience of fast food. I doubt that Grandma would approve though.

I think Mary Ellen being a nurse would have complained of how unhealthy it is.

I've never had a MacDonald's or Burger King or any other fast food, except very occasionally Fish and Chips

I grew up in the 40's. There were no Fast Food eateries but there were hambuger and hot dog stands, soda fountains (watch the classic movie from 1946 "Best Years of our Lives"), ice cream stores, drive-ins, etc. One of the most popular hamburger joints where my brother would take me was on Wilshire Blvd in Santa Monica. Everybody in town went there. You couldn't beat the taste, One day we went by and it was closed....boarded up. There were signs on the doors from the Food & Drug Adm. It wasn't hard to figure out why. Those wern't cow paddies they were feeding us.

When John Boy lived in New York City, I wonder if he ever eat a hot dog from one of those hot dog cart vendors that you see in movies and TV?
