I am finally watching the last episode. I guess I saw it when I was a teenager but it has been a while and I forgot what happened. It wasn’t until the last 5 minutes that it seemed like an end but I am disappointed 😞.
Even though they still said Ralph was the first star, we never saw him again. Rose and the kids disappeared... I didn’t even see John-Curtis or Virginia.
I haven’t watched the movies yet and I will. But I wonder how long did the cast know about the ending??

The reason it seems like there were a lot of loose ends is because at the time they filmed The Revel, no one knew it was the last episode. Yet, when you hear Earl's closing, it is the perfect closing for the last episode. I wonder if they re-wrote it after they knew it was cancelled?

Some guy claimed that he owned the land that the town was built on. So they blew up the town and moved away.

I read in Mary's book and different places that they had no idea until it was canceled. And it was not told to them directly, they heard it from others. Pretty tacky if you ask me.

I got the feeling it wasn’t well handled. For something that still is being watched almost 50 years later, it doesn’t seem that the last 4 years were handled well. So sad but I guess that’s Hollywood

I guess the only thing to do with my frustration is to start watching all over again. I just saw the first episode and it is so good to see everyone again. Grandma and Grandpa and everyone else

In the scene inside the Baldwin home at the end of the episode, some of the people gathered there were part of the crew who worked on The Waltons. I’ve heard that Earl Hamner was there too. I’ve looked several times, but if he was there, I couldn’t find him.

Grandma and Grandpa and everyone else Better yet, watch their movie specials. You will have closure of our beloved Waltons and the warm feelings of family again. Their last three films have Richard Thomas reprising John-boy, and Olivia, John Sr. & Grandma Esther along with Verdie, Emily & Mamie Baldwin, Ike & Corabeth, they're all there..
