I don't think so. I dozed off before the end of the show. John boy sold his for his printing press. Was that the piece of land they did all the tree removal from and which outraged Grandpa?

I’m watching The Typewriter (Season 1), and I think this is the first time we see the shed. John Boy takes the typewriter into the shed, which he calls the tool shed, to hide it from Olivia while he types his story, then he puts it away in a sort of closet inside the shed. Mary Ellen cleans out the shed to sell stuff to the junk man, and John Boy has a major meltdown when he finds out. There is apparently no electricity in the shed because he uses a lantern.

Apparently there was no heat in there either. In The Best Christmas (I think) Ben, was complaining that he was having trouble setting type because his fingers were so cold.

The shed was many things over the years. For the first few seasons it looked unlivable. Than they move in and Cindy makes it look cozy and comfortable. It looks like it has electric too. I know its just a show but it probably wasn't insulated. How did they stay warm? Jim-Bob put a bath (and basin?) in for them as a present. I presume they went to toilet inside the main house (or in a po at night). Running electricity around (in those days when I doubt anybody cared about building codes) could easily be done by running a wire over from the house (either overhead or buried). Jim Bob gave them a sink, tub and toilet for a wedding present. Cora Beth got a little flustered when she saw the toilet sitting on the front porch.

I thought that was a really nice present from Jim-Bob. Practical and really useful for them - so much better than just buying a trinket or ornament or something.
