I find it interesting that Morgan Woodward was relatively young when appearing in the Waltons. Being born in 1925, he was only 53 when he made his second appearance as Boone in The Moonshiner in 1978. My gosh, he looked like he was in his 70's or 80's!
The same goes for Ellen Corby, she was in her 60's during the filming of The Waltons but looked considerably older. I wonder if the hair and makeup dept. made them look older or growing up in the early 1900's was so rough it just made people age sooner than we do these days.

According to some online sites, which may or may not be true, Ellen was a chain smoker, which tends to age someone more quickly. I do not know about Morgan, but of course, makeup can also do the trick!👍

Wilford Brimley was only 40 when he first played Horace. He looked at least 15 years old.
