It would be nice to learn more about this radio Ike Godsey had in his store. I noticed it on A Walton Thanksgiving Reunion (1993) the story was set in November 1963. Does anyone know what kind of radio this is? Image of Ike's table top radio

I did also ask on the ARF & if I don't hear feedback from our group in a few days I will let you all know what I learn from them... Has anyone noticed this radio on the original series or in any of their other reunion films? Or did they have a different radio in their store in the original series?

I keep trying to picture it in the store... really can't remember it, and that embarrasses me !! -- yet, I do seem to remember it being listened to....

I'm thinking probably a Crosley, but maybe an Emerson or RCA, could even be a Philco, I suppose... So many brands used a cathedral design....
Where'd ya get that image? This technophobe doesn't know how to copy/save a screen shot...

I remember a radio in thecstore that Johnboy turned on when he was hanging around the store and Ike told him to turn off...I think it was when he was waiting for his first short story he had mailed.
Also one when Ike and the Sheriff were going to listen to a radio show...Ma Perkins?

On the image you posted, that's a tough call. It would be nice if we could see the tuning dial. It could be a piece of furniture.

This technophobe doesn't know how to copy/save a screen shot... I wish it were made by one of those manufacturers. That would be really cool. Unfortunately this radio is a reproduction of an old style radio. General Electric made them in the 70s. This model is most likely a GE 7-4135A which was a solid state design, no glowing tubes inside nor Short Wave on the tuning dial. It tunes the AM & FM bands and had a cassette player under the top cover. By this time the manufacture of electronics was cheaper to make outside the U.S. This GE radio was made in Malaysia. They didn't look very hard to find a prop that was an actual period radio. They could easily have used a 1930s-40s radio. Our home 1945 Magnavox radio was still playing fine in the 1960s when this story was set to take place. I found the image on A Walton Thanksgiving Reunion (1993) film, it was during the scene where Olivia, Verdie & Ike are conversing, while country music is playing in the background. Their attention is broken by a news flash from UPI, President JFK has been shot. As the camera zoomed in on the radio, I paused the video on my PC and framed only the part I was interested, using the 'Snipping Tool' found in Windows 7, 8 & 10 and saved it in jpg format. On earlier versions of MS Windows you could do a 'Print Screen' using the PrtSc key, paste it into an image editor such as MS Paint and frame it there. there is currently a demo video of the GE 7-4135A on Youtube

I've saved it to my file for such things, which is amazingly large.... should really split it up somehow... maybe then I'd actually use some of the stuff !!!

Another Godsey's Store table top radio is one with the wire-wound tunable loop antenna set on top. The radio itself had eluded me on many episodes. The camera shots typically viewed it from a distance and there were several times I'd seen the square antenna viewed from behind the radio. In looking closely at the radio image RebeccaLee told us about, I recognize it shows a partial image of this same radio Here is the first image (Fig.1) I found showing a full front view of the radio, I found on S9 The Hot Rod, I see 4 knobs across the bottom mounted on the vertical plane and possibly 2 dials on a surface angled in away from vertical. I found another view (Fig.2) from S1 The Typewriter. It is not as clear, yet you can see its general shape. It would be fun to find out what brand & model this radio is. Any guesses? I see two different radios. The picture I posted and the one with Ike and Zeb appear to be the same. Doing some research!

I see two different radios. The picture I posted and the one with Ike and Zeb appear to be the same. Doing some research! I think all three pictures show the same radio. Your picture & my Fig. 1 & 2. If you look at Fig.1 (with CoraBeth) and do a closeup on the radio behind her, if you just look at just the left half of the radio, you should see it looks like the radio in your image. Very good on your research of 1920s era Loop Antenna and receiver. I also have an idea what the radio could be, but wanted to hear from you and our group before offering my thoughts.
