My favorite scenes from this episode are: When Erin, Elizabeth and Jim-Bob bring home pumpkins at the beginning, and then Grandma asks Ben and Jason to bring in the walnuts. I love how she knew that each of them had some in their pockets. When Mary Ellen tries out for the role of Pocahontas in the school play and gets the part. I knew the whole time that she would get the part. When Jenny and Eula Pendleton arrive and have supper at the Walton home When John-Boy and Jenny go up to the old chimney and talk about what they've been up to When Jason helps the Baldwin sisters make a special batch of The Recipe to give to President Roosevelt When the Baldwin sisters come over to the Walton home and want to adopt Jason, and Olivia declines the offer and invites them to Thanksgiving dinner When John and Olivia have an argument about the situation of Jason and the Baldwin sisters and eventually see the humor in it and make up. I love when Jason and Ben hear them laughing and they both say that they hope to be just like him. When John-Boy gets through the surgery and Olivia goes in to wake him up When Mary Ellen plays Pocahontas in the school play and the family and the Pendletons come to see it The ending when John-Boy comes home from the hospital just in time for Thanksgiving dinner with the family and their guests Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Waltons fans!
