I want to apologize for questioning or holding out hope that the information was incorrect about the passing of Ronnie Claire Edwards. I have just spoken with the Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office, and they did confirm that Ms. Edwards passed away last night here in Dallas at her home. They would not give me any more details since I was not a family member. They said that they would give information to a news outlet and so I expect the Dallas Morning News and others will shortly publish.
I had so hoped it was a case of a hacked Facebook. Again, please accept my sincere apologies. She was indeed a Grand Lady. Condolences to those who were closest to her.

The news of her death was the first thing I saw when I woke up this morning. Such a tragedy. May she rest in peace.

I saw Eric and Kami's post this morning... Very sorry to hear this. I think this will get a lot more attention as the day progresses. Playing Corabeth seem to come easy to her. Such a graceful person. I loved when they let Corabeth really shine in some of these episodes. She certainly left her mark.

Too often news has a ripple effect, but not every media outlet confirms where the ripple began. I wonder if she had been ill recently. One of the last posts on her Facebook page, prior to passing, was from a friend writing "I hope you are feeling better!" At age 83, illnesses can definitely be more difficult to overcome.

Hi everyone, I guessed we'd all be meeting here today Such sad, sad news. I get up each morning and watch The Waltons ( 2 episodes are broadcast every morning 7 days a week) before I get the kids up for school. It's my 'me' time and it sets me up for the day. She was a unique person and such a fine actress. No-one else could have played Corabeth like Ronnie Claire did. Yet another who wont appear in the Reunion Special we are all waiting for.... Big hugs to you all - we will always remember Ronnie and Corabeth 'with a little sigh'

I was sad to hear of Ronnie Claire / Corabeth Godsey's passing R.I.P. Good night Corabeth Godsey! Blue Ridge Mountain Hello, I live here in Dallas, and there is still no confirmation that Ronnie Claire Edwards has passed away. The report came from her own Facebook account, and one would have to ask who would have her personal password to post this. No one has taken responsibility for this news as a source, and I have spoken with the Dallas Morning News who knows nothing about this.
Of course, we all know for a fact now that Ronnie Claire has indeed passed away. I just wanted to answer your inquiry about 'someone' having access to Ronnie Claire's Facebook account. Her friend and business partner Marty Van Kleeck helped keep her Facebook account. Marty was with Ronnie Claire at Carolyn Grinnell's 40th Waltons Dinner Reunion on 9/28/12 in Burbank California. Marty was with her the next night at Kami Cotler/Ray Castro's 40th Walton Reunion at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles on 9/29/12. I had the honor to meet Ronnie Claire both nights, talk to her and get an autographed book.
Here's a short video of Ronnie Claire and Marty Van Kleeck:

Has anyone heard of funeral arrangements and burial? I'm curious if we have any board members in Texas that might be able to attend.
