Does anyone remember what episode it was when Ike and Ep Bridges were sitting in Ike's store and listening to a show in the radio? It was the one where they said what a fine woman Mrs. ?? was. I wanted to see if I could find that radio show and listen to it. This morning I was listening to the original broadcast of War of the Worlds with Orson Wells. I had never listened to it and it was very good. Got me thinking about the Waltons and other radio shows. If anyone knows the the name of the woman or the name of the radio show that would be a big help in finding the radio show.

There was a scene in An Easter Story where Ike and Ep Bridges were listening to a radio show. The program they were listening to was called Ma Perkins.

I I've often thought about the War of the Worlds broadcast and how it could have been incorporated into a Waltons episode. They listen to the broadcast and Elizabeth freaks out when she hears some noises outside...

That could have made a fantastic Halloween episode! One show which did a number of classic holiday episodes was Dr. Quinn. Regarding Ma Perkins, I never heard of the show until I read a Ray Bradbury story about it. I was astounded by how long it ran, starring the same actress, who never missed a performance in decades!

This is not really related to the subject, but since the subject if panic broadcast (spooky talk stuff) emerged, something that popped into my brain --- the only weird stuff episode I can recall is The Changeling. Wait -- didn't one of the episodes have something to do with a Weegie (spelling) Board?

There is an article about the show in Wickipedia and it says that she never missed a show in twenty seven years! Imagine that!

I want to ride up there an take a look. There is a park and other things to see. There is also a diner with things from the movie.

The Nightwalker was also a little creepy. I agree with the creepy part. As the shoe progresses though, I began to feel sorry for -- sorry, can't remember the night stalker's name at the moment --- Then, I really liked the way the show ended with him becoming fixture of the community along with being able to support his mama with his special talent.
