I love this forum. We are indeed, so lucky to have such a great place to interact with others. I do find it strange, but nice, how a person can end up caring about another person even though they have never officially met. I think we have a great group here. I think Brenda does a great job keeping us in line . I would like to say right here to everyone, that I really do care about you all, and I enjoy our conversations about the Walton's and everything else under the sun! I couldn't have said it better myself Daniella.

This forum is going strong because of many things. You need good admins & and you need good people participating and you need respect between members We have all of that here. I was a moderator for years on another forum that had 10,000 posts a month (yes that it a lot) and because some moderators just opened the door a little bit to trollish/negative people, many came in and it became a site for people whining about whether 1992 or 1994 was a better year (and the fights they had, oh my goodness) and it became very left wing liberal and full of hate towards any religion and a whole number of people left because of that and because of people whining over any post you can think of (even non religious, non political ones) If this board would be like that one, you'd have this type of discussion here - I like Erin - I hate Erin -Well then you are stupid -No you are stupid, Erin is annoying, Elizabeth was nice -No Elizabeth was a pain, Erin was nice, you are an idiot -No you are an idiot -No you are -Go jump on a land mine -Go swallow anthrax etc..you get the jist of it. Then the swearing would begin. Forum admin wouldn't let that happen here. This place is so sane compared to other forums I've never been on any other forums, chat rooms, Facebook or anything else. If I hadn't met Kathy Lee at Earl Hamners boyhood home by chance, I never would have even known about this forum. By meeting just one person( and her husband and granddaughter) my life became so much fuller. It just goes to show how a word or two from a stranger can impact your life. So blessed. Thanks Kathy Lee. Love you all. See some of you soon.

I think we should be proud of the Waltons Forum! Other forums that I belonged to have closed down due to Facebook and lack of interest. I loved a dachshund forum but it closed because everyone went to Facebook! I am so happy that the Walton forum is still going strong. Thank you to everyone for keeping it going! I live in Sydney, Australia and love this forum. I very rarely post because I am either shot down in flames or my posts are ignored but I do enjoy reading all the other posts and I especially love seeing all the info and photos from the annual reunions. I have the entire series on DVD and love watching them over and over. I am even educating some friends and family by lending them my DVDs so they too can become fans.

Margo first, sorry if you feel slighted here. But I doubt anyone ignores you deliberately. Keep posting because I truly believe everyone likes reading ALL posts.
Second: This is the friendliest board I've ever come across. I love the post that said I Like Erin I Like Erin etc etc.
Let's keep it this way always.

This place is like the Waltons dinner table. You have to elbow your way in and speak up. I have threads that nobody responded to as well. Someone here told me that I like to talk about things that nobody else likes to talk about. One of the cool things about this board is the ability to have a discussion on topics. This means posing an argument like those taught in Communication and Philosophy courses. To some, that might come as a attack.

Marge and I have talked on the phone and I am friends with some of you on Facebook, but I haven't really met any of you yet. Still, I feel like I know some of you already. This is a wonderful forum with equally wonderful folks. I don't post very often due to a busy life but enjoy catching up on the threads when I have the time. I started on Ralph's forum back in the late '90's but life quickly got in the way (as it still does now) and I dropped off until I resurfaced when I found this forum about three years ago. I am glad I did. I am the admin on Facebook for an alumni group of 500. I believe Scarlett posted that usually only a handful regularly post here. Perhaps that is the norm, as I have the same thing in my group. It's always the same folks commenting or posting. I tip my hat to Brenda for running a top notch forum!

I much prefer this format than Facebook. I do too. And With work, family, home, etc. it is easy to be spread thin and not have much spare time. I just stay with the forum as that is all I have time for.

This is the first and only Forum in which I have participated. I enjoy everyone's posts, and have only occasionally noticed any negativity. I never take anything to heart - if I don't like the way a Thread is going, I just don't read it! I am also a fan of Facebook, and have quite a few friends there whom I "met" on this Forum. On Facebook you get to "meet" the real people and learn more about their families, activities, etc. I think there is room for both! The only Forum member I have met in person is ForeverWaltons ( and her wonderful family). However, I corresponded with several other folks when Nicki Wallace started the PenPal group several years ago. Just recently, I purchased a lovely work of art painted by dowsee's talented wife. The Forum has "introduced" me to people all over the country and the world - how cool is that?! I appreciate all the frequent posters who help keep the Forum going. May it continue for a long time! What is the name of the Facebook group?
