Anniversary Celebration 2015 The Walton's Mountain Museum will be celebrating our 23rd anniversary on October 17, 2015. Once again, we will have live music in the great hall; featuring Betty Bowen (gospel) and Little Mountain Boys (bluegrass, country). Our good friends Art and Melanie Magner of Breckenridge Carriage will return; and provide horse/wagon rides through our little community. Come meet famed author Lynn Coffey, who has published several books on Appalachian Mountain culture. Also, the Nelson County Sheriff's Dept. will bring their DUI simulator. More details on this fun-filled day on Walton's Mountain will be published here on Facebook in the weeks to come.

I have a few books by Lynn Coffey and will bring them and see if she will sign them. Earl Hamner's mother, Doris, is featured in one of the books.

Anniversary Celebration 2015
Things are really shaping up for an exciting and fun-filled day on Walton's Mountain. There will be plenty of music in the great hall. Betty Bowen (gospel), Little Mountain Boys (bluegrass, country) and Five Boys of Zion (gospel) will be on-stage.
Rockfish Wildlife Sanctuary will be on site to show their work with rescued animals. Also, meet Lynn Coffey, noted author on Appalachian Mountain culture. We still have spaces available in our Crafter area, for anyone who wants to show and sell their work to Walton fans.
Breckenridge Carriage, will have horse and wagon rides for anyone who wants a leisurely tour of Schuyler. Also, Nelson County Sheriff Department will have information on Child ID program, as well as their DUI simulator.
Regarding parking: The best route into Schuyler from US-29 is to take Route 6 East for eight miles, and turn right on Route 800 (Schuyler Road.) Once you get to the stop sign, turn right and you'll see a parking attendant uphill.
We will have a large area set aside for handicap and special needs parking. If your party requires special parking and your vehicle doesn't have a handicap placard, just let the parking attendant know when you arrive.
We look forward to having you and your family join us for this celebration on Saturday, October 17th. Admission into the museum will be $8.00 per person age 6 and above. Children 5 and under are admitted free.
