My favorite moments are The Hunt where John Boy saved John from the bear.Another moment is The Easter Story when John Boy runs on top of the mountain, and John runs after him. Also the one when John Boy comes home and engaged to be married, and Jim Bob asked if John was going to tell John Boy about the facts of life. Also in the last movie when John Boy is about to become a father to twins,John throws him in the water.

I love the scene from The Burnout when John is trying to rebuild the house and John Boy is trying to re-write his lost manuscript and they're attempting to give each other a pep talk. Great writing and great acting when Ralph/John delivers his "I'm not the same man who built this house...etc." That scene tugs at my heart strings every time.

I have two. The Easter Story scene on top of the mountain was already mentioned by sdw and is my favorite.
The other one is the episode where the one family accuses John of stealing china. When Ep comes to ask John about it and he, John and John Boy are on the porch and John won't talk. John tells John Boy to go inside but John boy keeps telling him to just tell the truth. John yells, "I said get inside!" Makes me jump every time and I love John Boy's quick turnaround into a little kid and going inside.

I like all those mentioned by others.
In addition, I liked the very brief moment at the end of The Journey when John comforts John Boy after Maggie's death. John puts his arm around JB's shoulders in a very natural and fatherly gesture.

all of the above, and when John is talking to John Boy the day before his first day of collage, when John tells him to remember who he is. The eldest of the Walton children, and he is liked and respected by many.

I like the John and John-Boy moments in The Hunt I like the scene in An Easter Story when John-Boy runs to a cliff and John follows him and the two have a heart-to-heart I like the scene in The Journey when John puts his arm around John-Boy to comfort him after Maggie dies I like the scene in The Gift when John and John-Boy are out walking. I love it when John gently puts his hand on the nape of John-Boy's neck. I like the John and John-Boy moments in The Departure I like the scene in The Fledgling when John gives John-Boy some advice after hearing his plan to move to Westham for a while

I liked it in an episode when John listened to J-B read something he had written and he replied by telling him he was a good writer. My own father and I loved each other but he was always more ready to say he loved me than to express any pride in me. He told me once that he liked a story I wrote when I was in college and I guess that memory resonates with me when I see the scene I mentioned above.

John in The Prophecy... the way he is especially at the end when he discovers that he really has been successful and has a good life. That is my all-time favorite episode and I've watched it more times than I can count.
