Lately, I've been scanning the Turner Classic Movies listing for The Waltons old timers like Ellen Corby, Will Geer and John Crawford. None of their films this month, but fans of Patricia Neal (the original Olivia) may want to note a festival of her films this weekend.

4 p.m. today (Eastern), American Movie Classics has Jeremiah Johnson (1972). Will Geer has a nice turn as a crazy bear hunter.

I was just watching the classic Alfred Hitchcock film Vertigo on DVD. About half an hour into the film, James Stewart learns much from a hotel manager played by Ellen Corby.
This is 1958, and she still looks old!

I was watching one of the older versions of Little Women one night on TCM (the one with June Allyson as Jo). And Ellen Corby had a very small role in it. She was also in "I Remember Mama". They had an announcement that she would be in a bit part in the next movie coming on called "All Mine to Give", I watched it but never caught her appearance. Could have been when I took a potty break, and since TCM doesn't have commercials...
