I think there the characters of Jonesy,Paul, and Toniwould have been regulars on the show.I believe John Boy might have been on more. They would have shown more of Elizabeth and Drews romance.>Elizabeth would have graduated from high school, and start at BoatWright..We would have saw more of Aimiee, and her and Jim Bob would have gooten closer. We would have saw more of the preacher. There would have been weddings where all the family was reunited. What do you all think?

I know they couldn't do this since they stated in The Legacy that he was dead but I would have loved to see Ashley Longworth Sr. return to Miss Emily as a widower and we learn how Judge Baldwin ran him out of town when he saw them kissing under the tree because he felt Ashley wasn't good enough for Emily and he never forgot about her just as Emily never forget about him.

I read somewhere that there was going to be a tenth season and they did start filming it and were going to change the title to Waltons Mountain but it got canceled so they edited what was filmed into the first three reunion movies. I don't know if that was true or not but the first three movie specials did come out in 1982.

I think a season ten would have taken more of a turn toward soap opera. We also would have seen less of the stories wrapped up in an hour type of tv for this serial format. It would have been completely different.
They had plenty of young couples that could have had the typical relationship drama and enough new people in the family to have drama on how to run the mill. John Boy would have split time between VA and NYC and run into drama in the city. It could have still been good but probably would have turned off a lot of long-time fans (as much as the later seasons already had).

We started to see the "soap opera" effect when they brought Curt back.

I believe the tenth season was the three 1982 movies followed. By the three 1990s movies. I hope one more movie is out there to at least close out this part of the series hopefully before anyone else dies. Some have talked about A Waltons the next Generation to see what life on the mountain would be like in. Today's society.

They didn't know they were going to be canceled, so they took what they had planned for the 10th season and turned it into the movies.

A tenth season would have been nice. I like the idea of a next generation show. That could be interesting.
But....The show had a good long run so I guess we can't complain.
