oh...shuck I liked that too...It was a parrot I think...will have to look Yes, it was an exotic bird. I'll have to stick a dvd in the computer and freeze frame a pic of that bird.Saw the bird in The Easter Story. It looks to be about 8 or 9 inches tall and is very colorful. Could be ceramic or painted wood. Can't tell what it is made of.

I want to be the keep of grandmas iron her clothes always looked so well pressed Speaking of irons....I don't think my kids even own one let alone know how to use it if they did. Very sad. I have several...one for quilting, one for clothes and a set of sad irons for the day when the power goes out! My grandmother was a dressmaker back in the early 1900's. She had all sort of fancy sad irons...crimping ones, tiny ones for pleats and big heavy ones for large surfaces.
Rebecca Lee - I collect the old flat irons. I have about thirty of them including my maternal grandmother's. My father-in-law collects them too. When he went on a mission trip to Romania a few years back, one of the citizens heard him talking about that and they presented him with one of theirs (they still use the flat irons and the ones you fill with hot coals). My father-in-law also brought me one back for my collection.

I would take the iron grandma lookes so cute when she would iron I have spent a million hours ironing. Nothing is cute about ironing! But..... I like my clothes to look nice......so I iron.
I still iron. I will iron some of my foreverette's clothes and the next thing I know they are all wrinkled up. They just bunch them in the closet or wad them up. I tell them I don't spend all of that time ironing to make their clothes presentable for them to just walk out of the house with wrinkled up clothes on. I have started a new policy in my house...the next one that does that is going to do the next batch of ironing.

I absolutely hate ironing! What I iron always looks worse after I get done. LOL
Talking of old irons, I have one of my grandmothers sprinkler heads that she would use to sprinkle her clothes before she ironed them.

I have one of those old sprinkler heads too. Mine is on top of an old Dr Pepper bottle from the 1940's.

I can remember when I was a child watching The Waltons with my mom and asking her why Grandma Walton sprinkled something on the clothes then rolled them up and put them in the ice box. LOL She explained that that you had to sprinkle the clothes you needed to iron with water before there were steam irons and when you couldn't iron them right away you sprinkled and put them in the ice box or refrigerator until you were ready to iron them. She said she watched my grandmother do it.

I'd march straight in, take the downstairs writing desk shown being used by John and Olivia, and not even bother looking at anything else.
