As much as I like Mary Wickes, the Waltons episode that she appeared in, "The Hostage," is one of the weakest of all the episodes. To me it is painful to watch. She played the Baldwins' cousin Octavia. I caught Helen Kleeb in a third season episode of "Bewitched" recently. She played a committee woman who was trying to raise funds for playground equipment with Samantha. I vaguely remember that episode. Will have to watch it again to refresh my memory. Bewitched! Will have to see if I can find that episode. Eric Scott was on Bewitched, but I can't remember which episode. I think it was a short time before the Homecoming was made because he looks about the same age.

Go to the 10:32 to find him...with the beautiful Elizabeth Montgomery. Note: Dailymotion streams a lot slower than youtube for me, hope you don't have the same issue.

This episode also stars David Huddleston who played Sheriff Bridges in The Homecoming: A Christmas Story and A.J. Covington in the Walton's episode The Literary Man.

This is not about a Waltons sigthing but about a Waltons mention. In his message this the pastor of my church, mentioned The Waltons, about The Waltons talking before they went to sleep, that what his family did when he was growing up,his message was about prayer.

Watching a great movie on TCM called "I Remember Mama" (1948) starring Irene Dunne, who was nominated for best actress for her role, Barbara Bel Geddes as a very young girl (many may remember her as matriarch Miss Ellie Ewing on the TV show Dallas), as well as a young Ellen Corby as Aunt Trina. It's a really good movie and has high ratings from Rotten Tomatoes. *Ellen Corby and Barbara Bel Geddes were also both nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. This was Ellen's only Oscar nomination. Although both did not win, Ellen Corby did win a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress for the same movie role.

Immediately following the movie I just watched on TCM, this little clip was shown in tribute to Beulah Bondi. I found it on YouTube and thought I'd share it with you all.

Watching the movie "The Manchurian Candidate" 1962 starring Frank Sinatra. While dreaming, Helen Kleeb (Miss Mamie Baldwin) shows up as Mrs. Whitaker, Chairwoman of the Women's Garden Club, making quite a lengthy speech. I was very surprised to see her in this movie--especially in Frank Sinatra's recurring dream!
