Ummm.....just got up and checked my weather app. Now it says rain on Saturday! It was saying sunny just yesterday! Better pack warmer clothes and a rain jacket! Let's keep our fingers crossed for a sunny day.
You're right, it is now saying a couple of showers for Schuyler. I'll be bringing our 'Bama football umbrella. A shower here and there is not going to stop me. If there is showers maybe they will happen while we are inside touring the Hamner home, the Baptist Church, etc.
The temperature was forecast at 45 degrees for Saturday, that has been changed to 52 degrees now.
Spoken like a true Walton fan! Lyrics to an old song came back to me, "Nothing's Gonna' Stop Me Now!" Just bundle up and keep warm as you trek around Schuyler. I know you will all have a marvelous time no matter the weather. We had a cold front with very gusty winds come through Iowa last night and this may be what is headed toward you. I am feeling like a sissy today with temps in the low '50's.

We will have fun no matter what the weather is! It is supposed to snow a little in Luray. We might see a little snow on the mountain tops. That would be nice! Today it was about 75 and gorgeous. That would have been nice for Saturday but I don't mind a little rain on Saturday.

I am almost packed! I did find 1 umbrella but it is huge! It is one I used to use at sporting events. Have a fleece sweater if it gets too cold and have the candy to pass out to children. We are heading down on Thursday where we will stop in Chambersburg, PA for the night. There is a nice used bookstore in Chambersburg that we always visit. Then on Friday we will head to Lynchburg! We found a nice antique store in Covesville that I want to stop at on Friday. I think it is called... Covesville Antique Store. It is on Route 29. Halfway between Charlottlesville and Lynchburg.

It snowed here, overnight. Not much of it, grass and roofs of houses with some white stuff. Just a sign that winter is coming. The poor people in Florida will have to put on socks soon instead if going out with sandals bare feet.

Just back from Schuyler and can happily report that we had no rain. It had rained here overnight at Lynchburg but it cleared up by the time we headed off. So many lovely new friends. It's been a great day so far.

I went for a walk today, and I wore a long sleeve shirt, a fleece hoodie, another hoodie with a huge fur collar, plus my winter coat. My body was warm enough, but I needed my hood up. Winter is coming....right on time! I hate it. I hate being cold. My bff that I was walking with, loves this weather. I told her we maybe can't be bff's anymore. Well, winter is here, and I will try my best not to complain, but I really do hate the cold weather

We arrived at our B&B in the foothills of the Smokies about 90 minutes ago. There is still a little snow left, but our hostess told us that it snowed 7 inches a couple of days ago! Yikes! She said they've never gotten snow this early before. After climbing the significant mini-mountain to get up here (which will only accommodate one car at a time, not even sure what happens if there is a car coming the other way), I am very glad I arrived a couple of days AFTER the snow. We almost had the opportunity to use the 4wd on our rental SUV! Naturally we didn't see much in the dark. Can't wait to see what it looks like in the daylight. The views, from what I've seen on their website (and can imagine even in the dark) are quite spectacular.
