It is supposed to be breezy and cold, 53 degrees in Lynchburg,VA on Saturday.
Looks like we will just miss the warm weather. Here's the seven day forecast that I found for Lynchburg and Schuyler.
Schuyler: Mon. 76 Tues. 77 Wed. 70 Thur. 61 Fri. 61 Sat. 45 Sun. 50
Lynchburg: Mon. 76 Tues. 77 Wed. 68 Thur. 61 Fri. 64 Sat. 48 Sun. 50
Looks like we all will have to wear a jacket for our trip to Schuyler on Saturday. It's going to be fun (no matter what the weather is) walking around Schuyler with everyone to the Baptist Church, Hamner home place, Walton Museum, Isis Ringrose's house (hospital Earl Hamner was born in) for lunch, etc. At least they are forecasting sunny skies all day on Saturday (no rain).

50 degrees is nice, only need a windbreaker. Don't even need long sleeves.

It is supposed to be about 31 degrees at night so the mornings will be crisp. The weather in Schuyler is similar to where I live. We have been wearing light jackets or sweaters in the morning and at night. During the day, short sleeves or a light, long sleeved shirt has been fine as long as the sun is out. But, the temperature has been dropping fast when the sun sets. Can't wait to get there! Got the suitcases out today. Packing tomorrow.

Wish we had that weather here. It's in the 50s during the day and the 30's at night now. And we have snow as of yesterday.

Wishing everyone going to the reunion safe travels and happy times! Wish I could enjoy that brisk Fall weather with you. My AC is still going strong; it was 87 deg here today. Can't wait to see photos and hear stories from everyone. Take care...

Don't bet the ranch ! ... I love the cold, and lots of snow -- to me, it's highly preferable over 3-4 months of heat and humidity

You're right, it is now saying a couple of showers for Schuyler. I'll be bringing our 'Bama football umbrella. A shower here and there is not going to stop me. If there is showers maybe they will happen while we are inside touring the Hamner home, the Baptist Church, etc.
The temperature was forecast at 45 degrees for Saturday, that has been changed to 52 degrees now.

One sad thing I learned during all those years of organizing major events, is that you can never book a hotel during any period that has certain "special" things going on -- like the autumn leaves.... so, the Kirkley would want Carolyn to book a week or two before/beyond.... weather can also affect available booking options for large groups.... hard to obtain "perfect" weather conditions.
Another example is that, in cosmetics, we frequently had one of our two yearly national sales meetings in Arizona -- but could only book a hotel the first week of May, after the desert had mostly stopped "blooming" -- we would have preferred April....

We generally have about the same weather that the Lynchburg area has, except we get it a few hours earlier. Our weather has been beautiful for the past few days, and today it is sunny with a high expected of 80. Our weatherman is telling us that this weekend we will have the coldest temperatures of the season so far, and there is even a chance of the first snowfall. So I guess we'd better be prepared.

I am almost packed! I did find 1 umbrella but it is huge! It is one I used to use at sporting events. Have a fleece sweater if it gets too cold and have the candy to pass out to children. We are heading down on Thursday where we will stop in Chambersburg, PA for the night. There is a nice used bookstore in Chambersburg that we always visit. Then on Friday we will head to Lynchburg!
