We are planning on being there at about that time also. I think check in is at 4:00 so that will give us a little time to get settled before the night event.
Just remember the meet and greet is from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. ET.
There's nothing after that, is there?

Nothing until the autograph session on Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. I was hoping that some of us could get together and eat supper (after the meet and greet), either at the hotel (don't know what time their restaurant closes) or another restaurant in town.
I also plan to be at the autograph session at 9:00 a.m. I would like to be able to get on the road to Schuyler as soon as possible. It's an hour drive there and back. We will be happy to carpool with anyone interested. Our van holds 7, as of right now we have either 4 or 5 seats available (waiting on a confirmation from two people that are coming by train to the reunion, so there might be just 3 or 4 seats). I'm planning on following Brenda, weezer29 (Peggi) and Cinlou to Schuyler. Hope you girls don't mind. LOL!
Brenda, Peggi or Cinlou - Do any of you know if Cynthia B. is going to go with us again this year? I sure hope so, I really like her.

FYI -- The Kirkley's "check-in time" of 4pm is unusually late !! .... but, you can usually ask the hotel for "early check-in" (no-charge) if it makes life easier for you.... don't be afraid to ask !!

For Jeri. There was a TV show called "Lois and Clark" in the 1990s...i.e Lois Lane and Clark Kent. That's the pop culture reference here. I will have to use that at school when we get to Westward Expansion. I wonder if the kids will get the joke? They won't get it.

You wouldn't believe how many times I make actual lists for everyone and then go over them again and again in my mind. So far in 18 years as a parent in all our trips and adventures...only once have I forgotten something...an alarm clock. We ended up not needing it because the hotel had wake up service.
Now wait and see...I've jinxed myself and will leave several things behind.
Last year (very close to this time actually), we went to Gettysburg for a long weekend. It's about a 4 hour drive for us. When we were about 45 minutes away from the B&B, there was a sudden and loud exclamation from the passenger seat where my boyfriend was sitting. He said he forgot the suitcase on the front porch. I was mildly amused until I found out it was MY suitcase. We made a few frantic calls to see how much it would cost a messenger service to bring it down and since they weigh it, the cost was prohibitive. He of course said...just go buy some new clothes. But it's not that easy for me to find stuff "off the rack." Plus, we were going riding on the battlefield and I had packed my riding helmet, paddock boots, riding gloves, etc. And my medication. And my computer. I ended up making a deal with my friend's son. He went to the house and drove it down to us and we had it by 9 p.m. (I paid him handsomely for his trouble, but it was well worth it.) The funny part is that as soon as I realized it was my suitcase, my stricken boyfriend looked at me and said, "You shouldn't have asked me to do so many things at once." I looked at him and said, very quietly...."That's really not the approach you want to take to this, is it?"
It all ended well and we had a great time. But we'll be double checking the back of the car before we pull out of the driveway tomorrow. Lol! Imagine how hard it was for your boyfriend to tell you he forgot your suitcase? Haha, I'd be scared to tell someone that! It's good you found a way to get it down to you! I love his reason for forgetting it too....too funny

I was thinking about you as I was packing and all you have to do to get ready. Reminded me of the episode where the Walton children were being left behind and as Grandma and Olivia were leaving the house they were saying that they left cookies, and extra food, and don't forget this and that. Made me think that is what is going on in your house! Just got out my camera! Almost forgot it!

My father would always joke that he was going to drive around the block twice because we would get a block or two away and my mother would make us go back for something we forgot. When my daughter was little we were a half hour from home and she relalized.....she did not have her blanket! We had to turn around and go back and get it!

Dinner sounds nice on Friday. I'm in! I would like to get to the autograph session early also. What are you doing about breakfast? I was thinking of picking up something to eat in my room as it does not seem like there will be time to have breakfast and get to the session early.

We're leaving tomorrow morning, but I'm not sure what time. It is about a 4 to 4½ hour drive for us with no stops. However, we plan to stop a couple of times along the way. We should be there sometime in the afternoon. Safe travels to everyone! We are leaving tonight. Just waiting for my husband to get home. Our drive is about the same as your's but we have to go around Washington. So we are leaving tonight to make it a little easier since there will be less traffic tonight. DC traffic in the morning !

Mr. Forever and I are eating supper Friday night with weezer29 (Peggi), Kathy Lee and her hubby (I'm assuming he is coming along too) - Any more takers? If I don't hear from you (here on this thread), then I'll either find out at the meet and greet or call you about it if I have your phone number. You all know who you are.
