Uncle Charlie and Grandma would have been interesting together . The nagging back and forth at each other would grow old quickl Imagine Geirge Jefferson married to Maude. 30 minutes of yelling and complaining .
Imagine Olivia Walton married to Tony Soprano. Imagine John Walton married to Alexis Carrington (Joan Collins) from Dynasty. Imagine Cora Beth married to Gilliigan.

I love Fred MacMurray, period.
I guess my favorite movie of his would be The Egg and I, with Claudette Colbert -- delightful !

Out of all of these, I would feel sorriest for John Walton. I believe John would eventually end up putting Alexis in her place though.

Yes, "My Three Sons" was a wonderful show. I thought it was a great venue for Fred MacMurray and William Frawley and later William Demarest. The kids were good too. And of course, the dog!

I liked that show too. I read something interesting awhile back about the show. They said that Fred MacMurray insisted on filming all his scenes at once for the whole season, instead of showing up to set every week like everyone else. The actors who played his kids hardly ever saw him because once he filmed his scenes, he was gone. It must have been a challenge for the other actors to play bits of different shows all at once like that. Goes to show you how big a star Fred MacMurray was that they were willing to work around him like that. He was a great fit for the show.

Reading this again, I realize that it may sound like MacMurray is the only one I liked on the show -- NOT I meant that he's an all-time favorite of mine and I can't think of anything he did which I did not like !! All of the other actors on he show were GREAT and I loved it, although I must admit that I preferred the earlier, original series when Tim Considine was the eldest son.... as the show moved on, even adding a wife for Steve (and her daughter), and then Rob's triplets, it just wasn't the same for me.... still, worth watching.

Yeah, The black and White ones are superior. I like the black and white ones but I grew up watching the color ones in the late 60s and early 70s so I have a fondness for those, as those are the ones I saw first, when they came on the air.

I'm on the color ones, and Season 6 and 7 are good. When they move to California, I lose interest. Katie is alright , but they didn't need triplets

I still liked Ernie when he got older, same for Chip. The cast grew to be pretty big with the triplets and Steve marrying Barbara and adopting her daughter Dodie. I think Chip gets married too later on. Most kid shows are better when the kids are still "kids"
