I'm sure most of you are familiar with this, but I'd never seen any of it. Here is a link to blogs by a former director of the Waltons. Ralph Senensky directed 12 episodes and gives background, opinion and clips of them. I decided to read/watch the Pony Cart and was hooked last night. Great job and great insight! www.allaboutthewaltons.com/senensky.html

Well worth the read if you haven't ever been there! I was never able to finish watching "the warrior" because I simply couldn't stand the acting of the older Indian. When I read the background of how he was chosen, his very little experience and the fact that Grandpa and Daddy were behind it. Then what the director had to say about it, well, that was worth the price of admission! I wasn't the only one who didn't like the episode or thought his acting was atrocious!
Under that episode blog, Kami even makes a comment which was really fun to read.
He gives background into Beula Bondi that is riviting. Makes comments on some of the cast and their fine acting abilities and why the original parents/grandparents weren't taken in to the series.

Glad you reminded me of Senensky's website.... when I first discovered it a couple of years ago, I was amazed at how much info he included, and I loved just about everything he had to say, although some of my illusions were destroyed !!
Need to take another peek at it

It's painful.

I'd love to hear more about your destroyed illusions, Jeri! Oh, gosh... let me see if it comes back to me.... what I remember most is that when I told folks here about the website and mentioned a remark Ralph made about a particular episode (I suspect about an actor....), the response I got from the forum was not good !!! ... doubt if I enticed anyone to check out the website

Well, you would certainly think the director of 12 eppies should get an opinion! I don't worry about what others think of my Walton opinions (and they are changing over time!) It's a discussion board. The series wrapped long before my first child was born, and it just doesn't really matter if my opinion is right or wrong.
Hope you remember. Maybe I should browse around.

I give up !! -- I've "searched" and gone through my obvious folders of documents.... nothing
So, now I'll have to look at all of Senensky's blog.... which is never easy with my dial-up pc !!
This is maddening

It's okay, Jeri. Don't trouble yourself. I appreciate the thought, though!
