Michael Jackson had tattooed eyebrows and eyeline and lip color. I thought it looked creepy. I don't like it at all. I also dislike it when women pluck out all of their eyebrows and paint them on usually in a thin high arch. YUK!

So, this week Starbucks announced that they are going to permit employees to show visible tattoos.... I don't think it matters much at a Starbucks but wonder if professional/business offices will go that way, too.... I suspect that, as with most jobs, smart folks who want to get ahead (or maybe just hang on to their jobs) will continue to be careful with their appearance -- what they wear, how they look, how they speak, etc..-- not to mention how they behave in general....

As much as I am a believer in individuality and any expression of that, when you are at your job, you are a representative of that company. A professional appearance is a must to be taken seriously.

Until the majority have tattoos. There is a great cartoon out there that shows a group of heavily tattooed people at a party. In the center of the group is a girl in a dress with no tattoos. The caption reads, "I just like making a statement." That is my answer to, "So, how come you don't have any tattoos?"

It's one of the many wonders of getting older...your eyebrows fall out and then you "paint" them on so you have eyebrows at all. Aging has so many wonderful surprises.

Some time during the 1930's, my mom plucked her eyebrows quite heavily -- in an effort to look like those of Claudette Colbert.... and later on she regretted it tremendously, because they never came back fully ...
A lot of "fads" are soon troublesome !!

A lot of "fads" are soon troublesome !! So maybe Michael Learned did the same thing. I always think her eyebrows look unnatural - too "surprised" appearing. That being said, if I was as beautiful as Michael Learned, I wouldn't worry about It!

We all know Jim-Bob received a lot of grief for his tattoo. This made me wonder how you all feel about tattoos? Does anyone have one or more? I have tattoos, several in fact and I like them. They all mean something to me and were done by my brother-in-law.

Than you sport full ones that need to be thinned!

Mr. Forever and I do not have any tattoos and we have no desire to have any. I am comfortable in my own skin with its own nature's imperfections.
I don't even wear any kind of make-up whatsoever. I don't paint my fingernails/toenails either. Mr. Forever said that was the first thing he noticed about me and was attracted to...that I didn't wear any make-up (his mother never did either). My own momma has always just worn foundation and nothing else.
I don't wear makeup that often. My mother always said, "don't wear makeup it ruins the complexion." She also said, "don't slouch it spoils the figure." And, "don't frown or squint it will give you wrinkles." And, "don't sit in the sun it will give you brown spots." Let's not forget the other things she said, " never cross your legs, only cross your ankles." And, "never, ever go into a bar or liquor store." I think tattoos would have been on her no-no list! I think our mothers grew up in the same neck of the woods...lol Personally I am not a fan of tatoos...okay if you have to have one make it small and discrete. It will be with you for a long time and as we all know tastes and fashions change!

My sister over plucked her eyebrows when she was young and they never grew back. She had eyebrows tattooed on and they look good. I guess it's a personal preference.
