Believe me, Kimberly, when I say that I am trying VERY hard to be there. When I found out that she was going to attend, I actually cried just please continue to keep everything crossed for me. Also, please tell Mr. Forever, no photobombing this year, okay? hehe Remember???
How could I forget? He's always been the HAM! It's easy to tell if Mr. Forever likes you...he good naturedly picks on you or jokes with you.
Aww I feel privileged that he likes me then I'm so glad we got to meet in 2012 and became fast friends I still have my Mary poppins plaque on my shelves too really hope we all get to meet again one day, and that I get to meet your adorable kids too

I had never heard of Bob Evans.... So looked 'em up.... OMG -- it's a CHAIN with over 570 units..... and publicly traded !
I generally steer clear of chains, but this one looks pretty good -- I'll try it if I ever get near one When I was growing up, there was only one Bob Evans Restaurant, the original one in Rio Grande, Ohio, on the Bob Evans farm. My aunt lived in nearby Gallipolis, Ohio, and we visited them often, so I've always heard of Bob Evans. Since our family name was Evans, we always called him Uncle Bob. It was probably the 1970s when they started branching out and opening additional restaurants. Eventually it wasn't just a local restaurant, but a regional one with restaurants all over Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Virginia. They continued to grow and can now be found in several other states, mostly in the south and the midwest. It's a nice family restaurant with good food and reasonable prices. We also have Bob Evans items in our grocery stores around here. I don't know if other areas have them or not.

We do have the Bob Evans food items in the grocery stores here. Just none of the actual restaurants!?!?!?

Kami Cotler (Elizabeth) is now scheduled to be there also. This summer Kami changed jobs, she stepped down as principal at the charter middle school and now is working in the charter management office. She has more flexibility with her time.
I also noticed that Kristy McNichol has been added to the roster. I was crazy about her growing up (in a totally platonic way). I really liked her brother Jimmy McNichol too. I watched the show Family, rushed out to see her movies (Little Darlings, The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia, Just The Way You Are, etc.), read any article I could get my hands on about her or Jimmy. I also have the LP that they put out. When I was 10 years old I wrote her a fan letter using an address that was in a current fan magazine. The article quoted Kristy as saying that she ANSWERED all of her fan mail. Well, this gal sitting here right now in the state of Alabama is still waiting 38 years later for Kristy's REPLY! It would be nice to have the money to attend this and meet her after all of these years.
She was in two wonderful TV movies - Women of Valor (1986) and Summer of My German Soldier (1978) with a Walton connection - the German soldier was played by Bruce Davison (Bob Hill in the Walton's episode The Shivaree).

Oh, man, never thought I'd know someone who "loved" Kristy McNichol as much as I ... "Family" was wonderful, and I've probably watched "Just the Way You Are" at least eight times !!!

There is on around here. Great place for breakfast. It seems that Bob Evans restaurants never really caught on like Cracker Barrel has. Could it be that gift shop and those rockers?

I wanna go too! I was at the real Bob Evans Farm a couple of weeks ago, the one where Bob Evans himself lived in Rio Grande, Ohio. We pass through Rio Grande on our way to Columbus.
Brenda, you know that we (weezer29, Mr. Forever, myself) want nothing more than to have you and Rusty there at the table with us. Really hoping that all of us from last year's breakfast can do it again this year (Cinlou, MrsOliviaWalton). Would also love for other forum members that come to the reunion join us, plus all of us tag along with each other when we go to Schuyler...that's a SHOUT out to Ryan James, Heather (dewlanna), Kathy Lee, jimbobwaltonlover94, JeannePhx, Jan, jeeeprose, etc. It also applies to the ones who said they are hoping to come...Uncle Coaster, sdw, mamawsoveralls and patriciaanne. Remember to let Carolyn Grinnell know that you are on the Waltons forum. She will try to sit us at tables together for the reunion dinner.
I am in for breakfast. It seems like everyone had such a good time. Can't wait to meet everyone! It seemed like a million years away when we made the reservations and now the reunion is almost here!

That's a good thought, Peggi -- Eric, Judy, and Mary could well plan on spending 4-5 days in NYC.... an excellent opportunity to do some sightseeing, and then on to the reunion. Here's hoping.....
It would be great if Richard Thomas (John Boy) would let the three of them stay at his place in New York. Then they could head down to Virginia for the reunion. The only thing that would make that any better is...if they could talk Richard in coming along with them.
Reading back through reunion threads in general, I noticed for the first time that Eric Scott mentioned that he wasn't attending because he wasn't invited (but was glad to be home for Halloween).... Now, I suspect that Judy and Mary weren't invited either.... and, so , it all begins to make sense to me.... obviously, for a VA reunion, travel expenses would be costly for the fan club.... Even if there is no airfare, rooms/meals are costly.... Caroline would have an idea as to how many she can afford to invite.... some years are probably better than other years.... attendees' fees can't be the only money available, so I wonder where the additional money comes from....

The first time I ever ate in a Bob Evans restaurant was in 1992. They had gift shops in them back then, just like Cracker Barrels do now. I forget how long it was before I went to a Bob Evans again, but when I did they had gotten rid of the gift shops and just had like syrups and jellies around the cash register. I didn't understand that as I thought they had some nice affordable things in the gift shops.

I first saw "Just the Way You Are" in the movie theaters when it was released. All of that snow and mountain scenery is simply gorgeous on the big screen. I just love that movie. I have it on a VHS tape that I have watched several times and I also have it on a sealed VHS. I would love to own it on DVD. A few years back WB (Warner Brothers) started manufacturing DVDs on demand from a library of selected movies. They have JTWYA in the selection. I have never gotten around to buying it. I just looked it up and they have it on sale for $13.89.

I did not know that about Bob Evans. The gift shop sure has worked for Cracker Barrel!
