I think John Boy and GrandPa had a special closeness with each other. It seems they shared in a lot of conversations about life and growing up. They seem to have similar ways of thinking too. They way the were matchmakers, in the Courtship. (love this one) and they both cried at the wedding. They sat close at the dinner table- that would be where I would want to sit too!
The actors seemed like they truly got alone well too!

There are so many great scenes with John Boy and Grandpa. One of my favorites (right now, anyways) is with them on the mountain in "The Sermon." John Boy is having so much trouble trying to figure out what to say in his sermon and Grandpa gives him those lovely words of wisdom. I just love it.

My favorite John-Boy and Grandpa scenes are: The Deed, when they are walking through the woods at the beginning of the episode The Heritage, when they are taking a dip in the hot springs The Sermon, when they are sitting on a rock near the mountain and Grandpa is helping John-Boy with what to say in the sermon

I like the scenes between John-Boy and Grandpa in The Fox.
