Yesterday I was watching an old black and white episode of Gunsmoke with Chester (before Festus). It was called "Uncle Sunday". I was surprised to see Flossie Brimmer as a customer at the supply store. Chester took a part time job there and Mrs. Brimmer (Mrs. Parker in this episode) was there looking at material for a new dress. Chester suggested she buy a corset and she stormed out saying, "Well, I never!" She was much younger but still played an older lady.
I remember her in The Governor and J.J. series as the housekeeper, in the movie Westworld with Yul Brynner as well as a couple of other old movies but it just surprised me to see her out of the blue.

I was watching "It's a Wonderful Life" a few years ago one Christmas and noticed a familiar face. It was during the bank scene when all the bank customers were withdrawing their money. Jimmy Stewart was trying to calm all of them down and was asking them how much money they needed just to make do. This little lady walked up when it was her turn and she mentioned a dollar amount that she needed, it was a very small amount. He was so thankful. That little lady was Ellen Corby our dear Grandma Walton.

I don't know what it is about me and Flossie Brimmer, but I just saw her again in the movie Soylent Green, starring Charlton Heston. She was in the market scene and she was a street vender selling and bagging "soylent crumbs". Of all the places seeing her, it certainly never crossed my mind to see her in this movie!

Do you really want to know?!? The movie "Soylent Green" (1973) starred Charlton Heston as a police detective. Set in 2022, in an overpopulated futuristic earth, a New York police detective finds himself marked for murder by government agents when he gets too close to a bizarre state secret involving the origins of a revolutionary and needed new foodstuff.
The foodstuff is soylent green. It is supposedly manufactured from high energy, green plankton. Soylent Green however, is eventually discovered to be made from human bodies. So it's human crumbs!

Nora Marlowe (Flossie Brimmer) is not credited in this movie Soylent Green (1973). That doesn't mean that she wasn't in it, sometimes people are uncredited. I saw this movie but it was back at least 30 years ago.
She was in Westworld (1973) with Yul Brynner. An amusement park for rich vacationers. The park provides its customers a way to live out their fantasies through the use of robots that provide anything they want. Two of the vacationers choose a wild west adventure. However, after a computer breakdown, they find that they are now being stalked by a rogue robot gun-slinger (Yul Brynner).

No, I'm sure she wasn't credited since she was an extra with only a line or two along with all the others in this market scene. Sorry I don't have proof but if you come across it watch out for her. Same face, same voice. If anyone hasn't seen her bio, check it out sometime. She was in a ton of movies and TV shows. I'm always watching TCM, MGM, ENCWS (westerns), RETRO and AMC channels. My mother was a big fan of old classic movies and knew all the actors/actresses. That's where my love of these shows and the trivia that goes with it, comes from.

I was watching the old miniseries Roots tonight and after the final episode, they ran the miniseries spin-off called Roots: The Gift. (1988) Lo and behold there's Michael Learned playing the character, Amelia. Her son on the show is (of all people) Shaun Cassidy. I remember him in The Hardy Boys Mysteries as well as being in Tiger Beat magazine as a heart throb of the 1970s. I wasn't a big fan of his but I did like his half brother David Cassidy from the Partridge Family. Unfortunately, now all that you see of David is his mugshots for DUIs

Thank you forever Walton for posting the episode. The older shows are just as spooky. They say electricity is one of the conduits for communication from this world and the beyond. I felt sorry for her.

Flossie Brimmer (Nora Marlowe) again! Saw her today in an episode of Gunsmoke (S14/Ep15: The Twisted Heritage). A much larger role in this show. She played a mean old lady called Ma Dagget.

I think Nora Marlowe is trying to send you a message of some kind! LOL!
Last week I saw Mary Jackson (Miss Emily Baldwin) on a 1983 episode of Magnum P.I. called, "I Do?" She played Grandmother MacKenzie. The episode was also directed by Ivan Dixon who directed seven episodes of The Waltons. He is best known as Sgt. James 'Kinch' Kinchloe on Hogan's Heroes (1965 - 1970).
