^^^^^ and I am wearing purple top made somewhere in ....Asia. What could this all mean? Should we ponder locations in Asia and the (wait for it) Color Purple?

I like your shopping cart photo, coriscapnskip. It reminds me of the way companies are now downsizing their product and charging the same price. Potato chip bags are half filled and puffed with air, cereal boxes are shrinking, and a treat we indulge in (Pop Tarts) are putting 1/3 smaller tarts in a large box and hoping we don't notice. Pretty soon, we'll just be eating our meals in pill form. "Would you like the chicken (pill) or the fish (pill)?"

Just watching The Heritage. It takes place on what is supposed to be a hot summer day. Everyone, even the kids, is wearing long pants or dresses, long sleeved shirts, etc. Didn't people wear shorts back then (although I'll have to admit the thought of Grandma in shorts gives one pause . . .)? In the early seasons, Erin and Elizabeth often wore very short, almost indecent dresses. Mary Ellen's dresses were never shorter than knee-length. The one time that Mary Ellen wore shorts in season 1, she got in DEEP trouble with her mother. However, a couple seasons later, Mary Ellen and Erin each wear shorts a time or two. But most of the time, the girls wore dresses or jeans. The men will occasionally roll up their jeans a little to fish or wade in the creek, but none of them ever wear shorts.

I recall Erin wore what looked like a white one piece swimsuit to some community event in one episode She was younger then and she was shown putting food on a picnic table. Was it the church picnic in which John Boy challenged the minister to a chopping contest? I was surprised John allowed Erin to wear it even if she was younger since he was so strict about modesty. Maybe someone else can recall the exact episode. I don't think it was the one in which Grandpa told the story about the dog and the railroad.
