I've been watching The Waltons on television for the last several months. The channel I watch them on plays the episodes in order, which is often rare for rerun syndication. However, during the Christmas holiday I missed a few episodes and would like to catch them online before starting to watch them on TV again so I don't miss any plotlines. Does anyone know of a place to watch the show online?

One girl had most of the episodes on YouTube, but they got taken down a few days ago. She has them up on Vimeo, though, here and here. It's not all the episodes, though. You may be able to find them on Netflix or Hulu.

I don't think Netflix has the Waltons. I don't know about Hulu.

You can buy entire seasons on DVD. Also, check your local public library. You may be able to borrow them.

Not sure what Jeri meant in her comments yet this has come up before. YouTube has some reunion movies and clips so if you on the road..check it out. I am a big advocate for YouTube, as it provides a vehicle for our younger people to get exposure to our favorite show. The actors get paid very little in syndication rights, as no one thought about that in the 70s. Just like Brady bunch and little house..the only people who make big money on the Walton's are earl and executive level.

Not sure what Jeri meant in her comments yet this has come up before. ... Yes, it has come up before, and (I think) Jeri was kindly refraining from mentioning that the online stuff is in violation of copyright, which is why it gets taken down as soon as it's noticed. It still belongs to the studio and the creators. So, I'll point it out: Let your conscience be your guide.

Not condoning breaking copyright laws but if they removed everything from YouTube that shouldn't be there, there would be pretty much nothing left on the site.

Thanks for all of your suggestions. I was able to get caught up with a few episodes on Youtube before they were taken down, but I'm still a couple of episodes behind what's airing on television currently. Luckily the library in my hometown has the series on DVD so when I'm home on holiday next month I will view those episodes I have missed then. In the meantime I will keep looking online, but thanks for helping me out!

Not condoning breaking copyright laws but if they removed everything from YouTube that shouldn't be there, there would be pretty much nothing left on the site. The original purpose of You Tube was to provide a site for people to easily share their own personal videos. It has evolved over the years into the sharing of entire episodes of TV shows and even full length movies. I guess in most cases the owners of the copyrights feel that it just isn't worth the trouble to go after these people. That's why it continues.

From what I've read, it's a fairly easy thing for Lorimar/Warner Bros. to get the episodes removed from YouTube.... They simply need to discover the situation and send in the request.... YouTube explains how to do this right on their site.... It's probably not a priority for Warner Bros -- i.e., it looks like they check on it every few months or so.... It wouldn't surprise me if Hallmark, et al., checks from time to time -- they pay to include the episodes in their schedule!! ... I continue to think copyright law is an important principle to maintain.

E knight..my conscience is very clear. I buy the books and I watch on TV.
To be clear, cable companies like lifetime do not use just Nielsen ratings. They know from your home what you watch from data provided by your provider. I have DVRs set even when I do not watch because that helps keep this show on the air.
YouTube was very comforting to me wen I sat in hospital room 24 by 7 with my loved one. Walton's was the first thing I pulled. What is wrong with that?
Funny, the little house folks do not have a problem. They want as many people as possible to watch. This is my last post on the subject because I do not want to offend. Tks

Tks There is nothing technically wrong with what YOU did, mtdawg.... whoever posted a copyrighted show online committed the "crime" -- and that person deprived several organizations from monies they would have made via contractual agreements with Warner Bros.... If whoever owns Little House permits use of its property on YouTube, it has nothing to do with such use of The Waltons.... It's a simple matter of law, as well as posing morality/ethics issues.....

This has to be the most controversial subject on this forum.
