I certainly enjoyed her character arc it was very interesting to see her go from occasionally being too strict, to being much nicer as they got older. I really like her defending that woman in The Violated, it's one of the most powerful things in The Waltons, and, I may be entirely wrong, but, I have a feeling she may not have defended her as much as she'd been in Season 1 (and especially not in her Homecoming incarnation!) I'm not entirely sure about that. Livvy always had a lot of spark to her, whether she was the "stricter" variety or not. I recall when Sarah Jane ran off with the "townie" and the young man's father and Sarah Jane's sour puss mother both showed up at The Waltons'. She told them off pretty good. I realize that is different than having to physically protect yourself, but I still think she would have.

While we're on the subject of Daniela's love life, did anyone notice her beautiful new Avatar? Wow!

While we're on the subject of Daniela's love life, did anyone notice her beautiful new Avatar? Wow! Aww, thank you so much! I had my cousins wedding so I was wearing a dress...I like dressing up for a little bit, but by the end of the night, the shoes, earrings, braclet, and necklace come off. I get tired of being dressed up too long!

Those are lillies. They are pretty, but everyone had to stay away from them because the pollen inside them stains clothes.

What a riot -- having to tell all the wedding guests to stay away from the flowers !! Kind of like a "Keep off the Grass" sign in a cemetery

Maybe I certainly wouldn't like to claim to be an authority on the character, we all interpret it in different ways after all. To me, it just seemed that early Olivia (especially Homecoming Olivia) would probably have had the more historically accurate "She shouldn't have been walking around half-naked"/"it's her own fault" attitude (probably to have her perspective then turned around by John-Boy, or some one). I do believe that the more feminist qualities that Olivia had later in The Waltons were added on Michael Learned's request, weren't they? Of course, I don't want to criticise the character her beliefs would have been a reflection of the time. And, anyway, who knows? There's no right or wrong answer

I thought she was pretty and had a wonderful relationship with John. She was a superb homemaker and mother. I also adored her laugh! I've never heard such a beautiful laugh before!
