I have MANY favorites on this show, but I'm going to narrow it down to one character. John Walton. He and Olivia had this great love affair throughout their lives, all the while raising a large family and dealing with life's curveballs and rollercoasters. He was tough yet had no problem showing affection to his kids. At a time when a lot of men switch to shaking hands with their grown sons, John threw his arms around them and hugged them as if it was the last time.

Elizabeth, John Boy, Grandpa and John is my Final Four Favorite Walton Characters. Elizabeth is a tomboy and a beautiful young girl. John Boy is a sensitive writer and good loving family member. Grandpa is the patriarch and soul of the family and John is the hard worker and loving father who keeps them together. My second four would be Olivia, Ben, Jason and Mary Ellen. Best non family members Ike, Verdie, Sherriff Bridges and Miss Hunter. Best comeday, the Baldwin Sisters, Yancey Tucker and Reverend Fordwick in the Sinner. He was playing Jack Tripper in that episode! Erin, Jim Bob, Cora Beth and Grandma probably my least favorites for different reasons but we all have our opinions. Good topic Nickire even if its a retread its always new and fun to hash or think over again with someone else. Best wishes WmFan If I left any of the main characters from the 9 year run I'm sorry but I think I got most of them oh yeah there was Rose Curt, and Cindy who filled in nicely atthe end of the series.

I figured it might have already been a thread a while ago, but I thought an updated thread might be used by some of us newbies as well as the regulars here. You guys are a lot of fun to "listen to"!
I am finding less and less to like about current TV programming. I am not into reality shows and I don't need to see things blown up to be entertained, so I have been revisiting all the old shows that use to keep me glued to the TV when I was younger.
I'm having fun watching these characters grow and mature, even though they did this 30 yrs ago!! I think all of the ladies grew up gorgeous and I've had crushes on all the Walton men at one time or another. John and Olivia are timeless.

I don't like much reality or current television. I mostly watch sports, reruns like the Walton's and breaking news although that seems to be very depressing lately. Anyway it's great to have you on the Forum if I haven't welcomed you. I like you, and you'll be liked here as a great Walton's fan. Tak soon WmFanSportwriter/Paul

I'd have to say grandpa. Outside of the family I would have to say the The Baldwin Sisters.

I love Olivia's character. Her unconditional love for her family as a mother, wife, and daughter-in-law -- she was so devoted, a great role model for all us!
