Does anyone remember this lunch box? I remember one with the family around the truck but not this one. "]

Carol....the other side of this lunchbox has the truck scene that you referenced. Barn scene on one side, truck scene on the other side.

Hi all, yes, I had this lunchbox, still do. I originally bought it with the box only since I always bought white milk to drink. Years later I found the thermas on ebay. I used this lunchbox in sixth grade, which somewhat made me the laughing stock of the boys, but "The Waltons" was my favorite show, still is, and I would not be moved by my classmates' ribbing. Now I am a missionary in Ecuador, and my (positive) stubbornness and standing up for my convictions has served me well.

I just noticed something weird on the 5th picture of tonyray's lunchbox (which is the bottom of the lunchbox. It is were the seam comes together, they perfectly match up the wrap around Grandpa (for his haircut), but notice that Jason is wearing an orange check/plaid shirt & he is missing his left arm & hand.
Then right behind Grandpa is a yellow sleeved left arm & hand reaching to Jason. The arm is not attached to anything! LOL!! Did Grandma get annoyed with one of the kids & cut their arm off with the scissors?? Or was it just their way of leaving Jim Bob out yet again!!

The rest of his arm is under the seam.

You're right, Carol. I just went back & noticed that the "yellow" sleeve is actually the "yellow" of the background.

I wondered the same thing myself. I've never seen anything like it. I'm trying to figure out how it happened. Just some kind of fluke, I guess. You can edit the message and remove the link if you want.

Carol, my husband I own this lunchbox and thermos and it's a real beauty. The front and back of it have an embossed look to it, so some of the characters stand out. We bought ours at an antique show at least 20 years ago. We don't remember what we paid for it, but everything is in mint condition. Ours has a little sticker inside that says: This kit is the property of....and has a little boy's name written on it.

I think it is Ben. Looks more like Jim Bob, except the hair is red. Maybe taken from "The Star" when Ben went into John Boy's room to study his spelling?
