Thought I'd share a little history of The Waltons Forum for those of you who have recently joined, or others who have been here for awhile but you don't know what happened before you joined. The original Waltons Forum was run by Ralph Giffin, administrator of the official Waltons website at www.the-waltons.com/. Mr. Giffin opened that website in the mid-1990s (can't remember the exact year). It was through that forum that I found out about the Waltons Fan Club and the reunions, and I got to know many of my Waltons friends who are still my friends today. It was a great forum, but just as any public forum, there were disagreements. Sometimes things got really ugly. Then someone would have to contact Ralph so he could remove the offensive posts. Ralph's health was declining, and he was getting tired of all the bickering, so he eventually closed down the entire forum. I emailed Ralph and asked him if he would mind if I took over the forum, and he said he would be glad for me to do that. So that's when I opened the second Waltons forum at www.voy.com/167136/. I tried to check that forum daily, and for the most part things went smoothly, but eventually the troublemakers started showing up again. The problem with that forum, and with Ralph's forum, was that people did not have to register to use the forum. Someone could post a message, then change his name and post a reply just to start something. So, in 2008, I started looking for another place to host a forum, and that's how we ended up here. So, the Waltons forum has been around for about 15 years now, and it has seen its share of controversy, as all public forums do, but it has survived. If you see something offensive here, please notify me by clicking on the "report to mod" link at the end of the message, and I will take care of it as soon as possible. By the way, you might want to click on the links for Ralphs Waltons website and the other forum. Ralph's site hasn't been updated for awhile. I believe he passed away awhile back, but it has a wealth of information on it. The other forum is closed, but it has 8 pages of archived messages on it. You might see some familiar names there and you might learn something new if you read those old messages. Brenda

This is a post I wrote a long time ago. I decided to "sticky" it so new members could read about the history of the forum. That's why it has moved to the top.
I have locked this thread, so no one can reply to it.
