www.the-waltons.com/faq.htmlQ. What happened to Mary Ellen's son, John Curtis, and Ben's children? A. The writers simply chose not to mention John Curtis. In one special it was mentioned that Virginia, Ben and Cindy's daughter, had died but no explanation has been given for their other missing child, Charles Benjamin.

David- Some of the mysteries of the show! When I questioned the fact that there was no mention of Charlie, the response I got was "nobody will remember". We now know that isn't the case, oh well-we just gotta accept all of these Waltonisms and laugh about them. Have a great '13 everybody. Eric

Virginia would have been around 19 Charlie around 16 and John Curtis around 23. They could have easily said John Curtis was away in med school studying to be a doctor, Virginia was away in college and Charlie was the one who died.

I think there was only 2 years between John Curtis and Virginia. It's hard to know what year John Curtis was born 5. THE SEASHORE took place the late spring of 1940 6. THE VOLUNTEER took place in 1939 7. THE GRANDCHILD no year in given 8. THE FIRST CASUALTY is in the fall of 1939 Virginia would have been born in 1944 The Idol the episode that Virginia was born in took place in the spring of 1944

THE FIRST CASUALTY is in the fall of 1939 Tv and ages and dates are so ambiguous especially on soap operas but even the Walton's had the Tempest with Curts reappearance after supposedly dying at Pearl Harbor. Children become teenagers in a few months or years so shows can have more storylines. And birthing and killing off or disappearing children like JC or Virginia. Virginia would have been born in 1944 The Idol the episode that Virginia was born in took place in the spring of 1944

Tonyray, Virginia died when she was about 17. She was born in the spring of 1944(c/f The Idol} and remember the beginning of The Walton Thanksgiving 1963 where they said,"Its been almost two years.' That means Virginia died either in December of 1961 or the early spring of 1962. No cause of her death was ever mentioned.
